POSITION TITLE: ASSISTANT COOK/CASHIER - Lincoln Middle School

DEFINITION OF POSITION: Assist in the preparation, cooking, and serving of a variety of foods in the food service program. Use a point of service computer program to record student/adult meals, accept payments from students, maintain financial records, and make daily bank deposits.

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Head Cook

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

•  High School diploma or equivalent

•  Food Handler’s permit

·  Experience with food preparation

·  Understanding of food safety and proper food handling

•  Experience in data entry, records management and applicable software

•  Experience cashiering and record keeping

•  Experience working with young people

ESSENTIAL JOB RELATED ACTIVITIES:

•  Assist in the preparation of a variety of foods

•  Accept payments on accounts for student and adult meals

•  Notify parents of negative student balances through phone calls and mailed notices

•  Prepare daily bank deposit and take it to the bank to be deposited

•  Operate and clean kitchen equipment such as ovens, kettles, mixers, slicers, and dishwasher

•  Implement defined standards of safety and sanitation

•  Perform related duties as assigned including organizing, cleaning, and dishwashing

•  Ability to consistently:

-  Work positively with a wide variety of people both inside and outside the organization

-  Work with colleagues in a collaborative manner and be a positive team builder

-  Meet multiple demands in pressure situations and maintain high levels of quality work

-  Maintain confidentiality

-  Deal with the public, other agencies and district employees in a positive and productive manner

-  Work with minimal supervision and be flexible

TERMS OF CONTRACT:

•  Salary: Classified, Assistant Cook/Cashier: $13.48 per hour

•  Length of Contract: 3 hours/day, 180 days/year, 10:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.

•  Leaves/Benefits: As per district policy
