Position:Support Worker (graduating to STEP worker)– across Step by Step Services as required

Salary:£17,036.74 per annum (sleepover rate of £32/night applies – up to two sleepovers per week)

Hours:Two full timevacancies

One part time - 16hours per week (tbc)

Normal Place of Work:Havant Foyer Services

Reporting to:Havant Deputy Manager

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure that clients have an individual Step plan, that their progress is monitored using an Outcomes Star as well as offering information, advice and guidance to support clients.
  • Ensure that you form and maintain a professional relationship with clients, acting as a role model whilst conducting yourself within the realms of professional boundaries and adhering to a style of working that will enable the clients to achieve independence.
  • To fully implement all SbS policies and procedures and abide by your responsibilities as detailed in the organisational policies and procedures.
  • To ensure that all housing benefit applications are completed correctly and updated accordingly. This includes making sure that all changes of information or circumstances such as moving on, staring work or other changes are documented and reported to the Housing Benefit Administrator.
  • To attend regular updating and planning sessions with your line manager and where applicable buddy/mentor to plan further progression and training. Attend monthly supervision sessions and complete annual Performance Development Plans and appraisal sessions with your line manager.
  • To provide an integrated service to the client group by communicating key information about client and service issues across the team and by covering shifts or sessions within Step by Step services as necessary.
  • To practice and adhere to a strong rent collections policy in line with the Housing Agent - First Wessex and possess an enthusiasm to minimising arrears and maintaining Client occupancies.
  • To undertake sleep over shifts within the Foyer Service in accordance with the rolling Rota system, including both weekends and week days.
  • To participate in the planning and delivery of an accredited training program to ensure that all clients are equipped with key life skills, and have access to employment and educational opportunities.
  • To undertake the STEP worker induction and accreditation plan within a probationary period to learn and evidence high standards of coaching and mentoring skills which empower and inspire young people to fulfill their aspirations.
  • To promote co production and client involvement within every aspect of Foyer delivery and to work positively with young people to identify, encourage and utilise strengths and talents.
