Position: Network Relations Intern

Status: Unpaid Internship, up to 40 hours per week

Reports to: Director of Network Relations and Network Relations Coordinator

Job Overview: This position will assist the Director of Network Relations with the development and outreach to all NEIFB program partners, as well as assist with increasing SNAP sign ups in our service area.

Responsibilities:

·  Assist in developing an outreach program to increase SNAP sign ups among NEIFB program clients.

·  Provide onsite SNAP information and assist clients in signing up for SNAP benefits at both program locations and member agencies.

·  Assist in facilitating, monitoring and maintaining paper and electronic files for the Mobile Food Pantry, Elderly Nutrition and BackPack Programs.

·  Utilize research to develop a plan to improve current programs.

·  Cross train in all NEIFB departments and assist as needed.

·  Other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:

·  Strong oral and written communication skills

·  Organizational skills with strong attention to detail

·  Computer skills- Office 2003, Windows and internet

·  Ability to work with a diverse population

·  Attend meetings in our 16-county service area as needed

·  Ability to meet deadlines

·  Must be able work independently or as part of a team

·  Commitment to social justice

·  Valid driver’s license and proof of insurance
