Position: Middle School Teacher – Information Technology/Drafting and Design Teacher
Worksite: BC Offshore School - BCCIS-Cairo

Certification: Candidates must be a BC certified or certifiable teacher

BCCIS is a B.C. Offshore School that is accredited by the B.C. Ministry of Education. B.C. certified teachers teach the curriculum that leads to a Dogwood Graduation Diploma.
Required Abilities, Qualifications and Experience:
- extensive academic training, professional preparation and successful experience in teaching Information Technology 8, 9, 10 and Drafting and Design 11/12school level
- a good understanding of the social, emotional and physical developmental needs of a middle school student
- demonstrated ability to use a variety of formative and summative assessments to plan for instruction and motivate students
- knowledge of, and demonstrated application of the BC Ministry of Education’ current philosophy, teaching practices, and evaluation/assessment practices
- excellent short and long term planning with respect to the curricular outcomes for the subjects
- demonstrated use of highly successful instructional strategies in the classroom
- demonstrated high energy and interpersonal skills
- strong technology skills and the ability to apply them as an instructional tool to support learning in a middle school classroom
- demonstrated excellent classroom management behaviour management and classroom organization skills
- demonstrated sensitivity, awareness and understanding of adolescent development and enthusiasm for working and developing positive relationships with early adolescents
- demonstrated capabilities in working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a team
- excellent interpersonal skills with students, staff and parents
- willingness to contribute to a positive school culture by volunteering in extracurricular activities
- is well-balanced and is flexible so that one can adapt to differences in everyday life
- demonstrates an understanding of cultural diversity and is flexible with respect living in Egypt
- has a sense of adventure and an interest in contributing to the success of BCCIS
