Position:Mental Health Co-production Worker

Responsible to:DVA Board of Management through Mental Health Service Users Network Co-ordinator

DURATION:Permanent post, subject to annual review

HOURS:8 Hours per week to be worked in accordance with the DVA Conditions of Service

SALARY:Part time £22,255 pro rata - £5,087

Location:Dundee Voluntary Action, Number Ten, 10 Constitution Road, Dundee, DD1 1LL, and any other location deemed necessary to fulfil the duties of the role

MAIN WORKING CONTACTS

A) Internal: MH Service Users Network Co-coordinator, Team Manager-Health, Care & Wellbeing, MH Service Providers Network Co-coordinator and other Development Staff, Support Staff and volunteers in DVA and Third Sector Interface

B)External: Service Users, Health and Social Care, NHS Tayside, Community Planning Partners, Mental Health networks and organisations.

JOB PURPOSE:

To support co-ordinate, develop and promote the active involvement of people who have experience of mental health conditions to become involved in the shaping the planning, delivery and evaluation of drop in service

MAIN DUTIES:

  • Establish and sustain relationships with people who have a lived experience of mental health difficulties and/or mental health services in a drop in facility
  • Facilitate a co-productive approach with members to manage the drop in
  • Build the capacity of people to be involved, gain confidence and take on responsibility
  • Support the running of twice weekly sessions following all start up and closing protocols
  • Be responsible for the purchasing and maintenance of required resources
  • Be responsible for health and safety, risk assessment and vulnerable adult safeguarding procedures for drop in, reporting any concerns or incidents
  • Support any mental health engagement events at drop in alongside the weekly groups
  • Advertise and promote the group to the residents of Dundee
  • Keep legible records for drop including monitoring attending numbers
  • Ensure an active assessment and record of evidence of the outcome of service user involvement
  • Adhere to all Dundee Voluntary Action’s policies and procedures, in particular with reference to lone working, risk assessment, safe guarding.

GENERAL

  • Contribute to quality assurance, which will ensure compliance with existing quality systems such as EFQM and Good Governance Award.
  • Be aware of any areas of risk and advise on improvements
  • Be committed to the work of Dundee Voluntary Action and promote team working.
  • Be committed to work of the Third Sector Interface and promote partnership working
  • Work in accordance with the organisation’s policies and procedures

CONDITIONS OF SERVICE

ANNUAL LEAVE: 25 working days per year (pro rata)

PUBLIC HOLIDAY: 11 days (pro rata) per year

TRAINING: Staff may make application to pursue appropriate, in service training and to attend conferences to their responsibilities
