POSITION: Graduate Assistant: Extended Learning Outreach

SALARY: Up to $4500 plus tuition stipends, dependent upon availability of funds, period of appointment and assignment. Appointments made after the tenth day of classes are not eligible for tuition waiver.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Coordinate social media messaging by managing the departments Facebook page, Twitter and LinkedIn Accounts and help the Outreach Coordinator develop and maintain a social media plan. ▪Assist the Outreach Coordinator in the development and maintenance of the communication plan for prospective students. This includes creating letters, designing email messages or other communication. ▪Develop and distribute reports and manage other inquirant management data requests using the Customer Relations Management (CRM) System Salesforce.com. ▪Assist with coordination, set-up and promotion of Extended Learning related events including Open House events each semester. ▪Design and disseminate electronic surveys to faculty, staff and students regarding service and use of service within Extended Learning (requires knowledge and skill in the use of “survey monkey” or similar applications). ▪Assist with responding to daily communication with prospective students through the CRM system and the Extended Learning email account. ▪Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Admitted to, or will be admitted to a Minnesota State University, Mankato graduate program by January 13, 2014.
  • Enrolled in at least 6 credits of graduate level coursework for each semester of the assistantship
  • In good academic standing

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience and knowledge of social media
  • Basic familiarity with database use
  • Experience with MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint; preferred experience with web editing
  • Preferred knowledge of communication planning
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently and cooperatively
  • Attention to detail, professionalism and dependability
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
