Job Description: Implements short and long-term plans and strategies related to building the membership program for growth and retention for museum. Maintains accurate and up-to-date records of membership information. Assists in planning and implementing activities and recruitment, retention and renewal strategies for new members. Creates, manages and attends all membership events. Is responsible for database maintenance and updating donor information and ensuring donor acknowledgments go out in a timely manner. With assistance from the staff this position is also responsible for all aspects of NMNSH’s Einstein Gala Silent Auction and is an active member of the Einstein Gala Committee. Assists in other development program efforts such as solicitations, grant writing and clerical support as needed. Provides direct customer service to members and prospects.

Requirements: The Development & Membership Associate will have a high degree of personal energy and possess great interpersonal skills. Must be well organized, paying exceptional attention to details and be able to multi-task and work in a fast-paced museum environment. Should be comfortable with membership calls and cultivation. Must have strong computer database and writing skills, and experience with various social media platforms. Must have proven success in a coordination role and must have the ability to direct, supervise and work with volunteers. Must have proven ability to execute multiple projects simultaneously and apply relevant inter-departmental information. Two years of development experience and a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college is required.

Salary and Benefits: This is a full-time hourly position with benefits. Salary is commensurate with experience.
