POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Position: Director of Communications, Student Government Association
Qualifications: Demonstrate organizational and listening skills; proficient in word processing; skill in shorthand note taking; attention to detail; familiarity with basic parliamentary procedure; comfortable with using laptops and projectors during meetings. Successful candidates should have a positive attitude and a desire to be a part of an energetic and creative team. Demonstrate the ability to efficiently and effectively communicate.
Minimum requirements:
●Shall have completed one semester as a full-time UNCW student and must have a current and cumulative grade point average no lower than 2.5. Must be available for the full 2018-2019 academic year.
●Shall be and remain in good standing with the university as determined by the Office of the Dean of Students.
●Shall be available for the 2018-2019 academic year.
Responsibilities:
a) Shall take minutes during official Senate and Executive Cabinet events, including, but not limited to, all meetings and retreats.
b) Shall work in conjunction with the Director of Marketing to post meeting minutes and
legislation on the website and email to Student Body Vice President, UNCW Archivist,
RHA President, The Seahawk Editor in Chief
c) Shall work with the SGA Treasurer or Student Body Vice President to recommend and
manage any expenditure from the SGA Technology Equipment Budget line as necessary.
d) Shall be responsible for managing and organizing electronic archives of SGA documents.
e) Manage member electronic permissions.
f) Maintain the email account.
g) Shall produce a video to be shown as an advertisement in Lumina Theatre to update the student body about SGA initiatives.
h) Shall build a relationship with the Office of University Relations to communicate what SGA is working on that is worthy of press coverage.
i) Shall serve as the Vice Chair of the Marketing Committee.
j) Director shall appoint a Senate member to post notifications about Resolutions
and all Bills passed by the Senate during meetings on social media. When student
organizations receive funding, notify that organization on social media the bill
was passed from the SGA social media account.
k) Shall post Senate meeting minutes to shared file storage within 24 hours of the
concluding Senate meeting.
l) Shall work in conjunction with the Student Body Vice President to post student
Senate positions
Compensation: $200 monthly stipend
Pay Period: August 2018 to May 2019

IMPORTANT: The candidate who is awarded this position will be expected to have one meeting with the current position holder prior to leaving for summer break. This will allow the new appointee to obtain any and all paperwork necessary to utilize while in office and for to the effective turnover of any other pertinent information.
ALSO, if appointed (along with the other executive board members) you are expected to attend the SGA executive retreat tentatively scheduled during the summer or fall of 2018.
