Position: HT Driver / Crane Operator / Customer Services

Reports to: Yard Team Leader & Drive Thru Despatcher

Purpose

To achieve a high level of customer service within our store and efficient deliveries to customers requirements accurately, in full and on time.

Delegated Authority

Annual Sales Revenue Budget: As set by Store manager

Annual Operating Expense Budget: As set by Store manager

Capital Expenditure approval level: Nil

Operating Budget approval level: Consumables, Fuel, Minor R&M

Stock Management (credits & adjustments) Checks but applied by Team leader

Inventory Cap Applied by Store manager

Expected Management Decisions: Driving duties, Sales processing and cash handling, Inventory checks. Returns

Key Accountabilities

Key Responsibility

/ This is achieved by doing the following
Customer Service
Protects the organisation’s interests and reputation, and contributes to the wider community profile of ITM
Exceed customers needs in the Motueka yard and store / ·  Deliver in full, on time and at the agreed price
·  Maintaining effective relationships and ensuring the store is appropriately represented and recognised within the community it serves.
·  Address and resolve customer enquiry in a timely manner in person or by telephone call to the store
·  Meet and greet customers in the yard, store and on site and assist them in all aspects of product selection, loading and point of sale processes
·  Promote ITM customer loyalty and promotional programmes
·  Maximise marketing of the ITM Brand and any offers
·  Develop a good level of technical/product knowledge to advise customers.
Driving, Crane Operation, deliveries and returns
Maintain an efficient delivery service
(relief or light delivery services) / ·  Effectively communicate with internal and external customers to ensure correct delivery and collection of goods
·  Deliver items to and collect items from ITM supplied building sites
·  May collect other goods on the delivery route
·  Unload and sort collected items and complete Return for Credit forms
·  Check all packing slips against goods loaded
·  Sort the delivery notes into order of delivery
·  Assist to load the vehicle with all the listed goods
·  Ensure goods to be delivered have been charged before delivery occurs
·  Ensure goods are loaded in the correct position in the truck, and take the correct precautions with all loads to secure to the truck
·  Plan which route to take to deliver goods in the most efficient way, and drive the route
·  Report any damage or poor performance of plant, equipment and vehicles
·  Ensure day to day maintenance of plant, equipment and vehicles is to company standard
·  Fill out daily truck check sheets
·  Complete prelift forms out on site and leave a copy with the site owner

·  Consistently apply the Company’s H&S policies and procedures.
·  Ensuring reporting of all H&S incidents, near misses and hazards.
·  Participating in regular, planned housekeeping and H&S meetings at your site, electing H&S Representatives as needed.
·  Ensuring you complete all relevant H&S training as well as induction training and sign in procedures.
·  Ensuring you wear any personal protective equipment required to work in a safe manner.
·  To apply truck safety guidelines for yourself and other road users
·  To maintain a clean and healthy workplace (by all staff)
·  High regard for safety on building sites and professional driving standards.
·  Participate in weekly Driver and Truck tool box sessions.
·  Check all lifting equipment and tie down equipment is in good condition and report any faults or wear & tear
Administration / ·  All administrative paper work is accurate and handled correctly.
·  Other duties may be required at discretion of the Team Leader and/or Manager.
Skills and Knowledge

Essential

·  Current Drivers license minimum class 2.

·  Communication, writing and numerical skills.

·  Health and Safety.

·  Good physical health

Desirable

·  Customer Service

·  Hiab crane experience/Crane Operators certificate (training is available)

·  Computer skills for customer service duties

·  Forklift license F endorsement and OSH Forklift certificate.

·  Good local knowledge of the area

Experience

Essential

·  Driving of HT vehicles.

·  Safe practise around vehicle loading and unloading.

·  Basic vehicle maintenance.

·  Current Health & Safety practises
