Position Title:Language teacher
Working Context: In relation to the Primary and Kindergarten timetable 0.2 FTE
Reporting to: The Principal
Starting date: ASAP. Latest Term 2 2016
Remuneration:12-month contract basis with a view to ongoing and depending on experience and qualifications

- We are looking for a qualified language teacher for K-6 who is a native speaker in the chosen language.Ideally the candidate has an understanding of Rudolph Steiner’s indications on teaching languages *
The Language teacher will be expected to exercise initiative and to collaborate with class teachers to integrate Language with everyday learning where possible. The Language teacher is responsible for the creation and implementation of theLanguage program for all classes.
Key Responsibilities
These include:
- to develop program and teaching approach that is based upon an understanding of human development
- to document the Language program in ways that are in accordance with the practices of the school
- to assess, monitor and report on student learning formally, twice a year in accordance with reporting requirements of the school, and to maintain documentation that supports this process
- to use students behaviour management practices that accord with school policy and are consistent with the ethos of the school
- to support the integration of Language with classroom programs
- to participate in duties and tasks which support the work of the teachers, attend staff meetings as appropriate and participate in professional development programs
- to follow procedures, codes of conduct according to the policies of the school

Key Selection Criteria
- Interpersonal and Communication Skills of a High Standard
- Positive Attitude Towards Children and a love of teaching and learning
- Native language speaker
- Demonstrated experience in teaching Language to kindergarten and primary age children and in managing behaviour effectively during lessons
- Demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional and personal development, as well as to participate in professional reviews
- Ability to Work collaboratively and in accordance with school and collegial principles, codes of conduct, and school policies
- Participation in relevant aspects of the school cultural life such as festivals, professional development days, and other special events
- An Understanding of Steiner educational principles and curriculum implications
- Current NSW Registration or interstate equivalent
- Current First Aid Certificate, including anaphylaxis management training
