Position Purpose / To lead a team of family violence outreach workers to deliver high quality family violence outreach services to women who are experiencing, at risk of experiencing or recovering from family violence.
To enhance the delivery of family violence services through development of practice innovation and practice partnerships.
To participate in the design and delivery of family violence community education and community development projects.
Qualifications / A degree in social work or a related field and a minimum of three years experience in the field of family violence would be considered beneficial.

Key Selection Criteria

1.  A demonstrated ability to supervise, lead and manage a diverse staff team delivering services to women, including women with children, who are at risk of, experiencing or recovering from family violence.

2.  Demonstrated ability to manage a high quality service including service evaluation and development, program planning, and program policy and procedures.

3.  Demonstrated ability to represent the organisation externally and to fully participate in internal and external forums on issues pertaining to the service.

4.  A demonstrated understanding of the issues associated with family violence from within a feminist framework.

5.  A demonstrated commitment to the provision of accessible and flexible outreach support services to women and children.

6.  A proven track record in working with women, with or without children, who are at risk of, experiencing or recovering from family violence.

7.  A capacity to assess and make timely and appropriate decisions on the provision of information, options and resources with regard to individual situation and circumstances.

8.  A sound knowledge of the resources and services available in the community with respect to housing, health (inclusive of alcohol and other drug and psychiatric supports), legal, sexual assault, counselling services, income security and education and training supports.

9.  Well developed client engagement skills.

10.  Well developed interpersonal skills, both oral and written.

11.  Demonstrated ability to work within a team delivering a range of services and to be independent and autonomous where necessary.

12.  A tertiary qualification is not regarded as essential but completion of studies in the social work or related fields are desirable.

13.  A current Victorian drivers license is essential.
