REFUNDS: / No Refunds will be given after closing date of entries
RULES, TESTING AND CHECKING: / DSA, FEI and SAEF veterinary and disciplinary rules will strictly apply. Both horses and athletes may be tested at any time during the show for prohibited substances. Saddlery and bits may be checked before and/or after competitors enter/leave the arena.
MEMBERSHIP: / All competitors must be fully paid up members of DSA. Temporary membership is only applicable to horse and/or rider not registered with DSA and is payable per class. If no DSA number for horse or rider is completed on entry form, it will be presumed that horse and/or rider is not registered and R57.00per class, with a maximum of 2 classes, should be paid. Should you require any assistance in this regard, please contact the Show Secretary.
STABLING: / Stabling will be available atR400 for the duration of the show. Stabling will be available from Thursday, 13 October 2016. If you need to stable at the showgrounds before this date, kindly contact the Show secretary for arrangements and additional costs (R150 per night extra). Stabling is limited and will be booked on a first come first serve basis. Initial bedding (straw) will be provided. Preference will be given to riders from outside provinces. For any additional bedding and/or special requests OR any feed orders during or before the show kindly contact Mr RULOF ELS on073782 8678.
Please note that only horses competing at the show will be accepted for stabling. HORSES MUST STAY IN ALLOCATED STABLES AND CANNOT BE MOVED OR SWOPPED. IF A HORSE IS FOUND IN AN UNALLOCATED STABLE, THIS INFRINGEMENT WILL BE SUBJECT TO A MINIMUM SPOT FINE OF R500.
CHECK ENTRIES & PROGRAMS: / Those who have provided email addresses will be personally emailed. Program will be available online on facebook page of Bains Equestrian Park, 2 days prior to start of show.
RIDING TIMES: / All email addresses received with entries will receive a personal emailed program.
DRESSAGE TESTS & RULES: / All latest tests and rules on the Dressage SA website will apply.
FREESTYLE MUSIC: / All Freestyle music should preferable be emailed as MP3 to the following email address: ., by no later than Thursday, 13 October at 17:00. All Freestyle music on CD should be handed to the Show Office at the latest on Friday, 14 October at 14:00. The Sound Engineer will do sound checks after the last horse has ridden on the Friday afternoon. Ensuring music is received and sound checked is the responsibility of the athlete.
USE OF WHIP AND CALLERS: / Championship and Freestyle classes must be ridden from memory but a whip may be used, except where Para-Dressage classification allows this. A whip and a caller may be used in all warm-up classes.
PASSPORTS: / Horses must travel with their passports. Horse Sickness and Flu Vacs must be valid for the show. Passports will be checked by the show organisers. Failure to produce a passport or a passport not completed correctly or fully may be subject to a fine and/or elimination.
CROSS ENTRIES: / NOT PERMITTED
A horse/pony may only compete in the grade in which it is currently registered at DSA.
CATERING: / Catering and grooms meals will be available during the show
DRESS: / As per DSA rules except Para Dressage athletes with specific dress classifications. Identification numbers must be worn on the left hand side of the bridle or numnah whenever the horse leaves the stables. Failure to display this identification number incurs first a warning and if repeated, a fine.

GENERAL RULES AND REGULATIONS:
1. GENERAL
All classes will be run under DSA Rules, Edition 1, Revised March 2014. The rules of Bains Equestrian
Park will apply at all times. In the event of a conflict, FEI rules apply.
2. SPECIAL NOTE (DISCLAIMER)
2.1By entering this show you agree to be bound by the relevant rules and regulations of FEI, SAEF, Dressage SA, Bains Equestrian Park and to abide by the Conditions stipulated in the Schedule.
2.2Neither SAEF, Dressage SA, Bains Equestrian Park, nor any of the officials appointed by these bodies shall in no way be held responsible for accidents or injury sustained by owners or competitors, members of the public, damage, loss or illness to horses or to any personal property arising from any cause whatsoever for the duration of this show.
2.3You further declare that the horse and rider particulars are true and agree that if proven otherwise your entry will be rejected by the Show Holding body andwill forfeit the entry fee.
The competitor undertakes not to bring any horse to the show which has an infectious disease, whether notifiable or not, or which horse the competitor could reasonably be expected to know has an infectious disease or may spread an infectious disease. The competitor undertakes to withdraw the horse from the event (with forfeiture of entry fee) if subsequent to entry it should develop, or should circumstances arise under which the competitor can reasonably be expected to know that the horse has developed or may develop, any such disease or the ability to spread such disease.
2.4Furthermore the Show Holding Body and their officials and/or representatives will not be held responsible for any damages, loss, theft or injuries sustained by owners, competitors, horses or appointed officials, members or the public or any other person or their property whatsoever.
2.5Any person who attempts to harass or influence the Judges, Stewards or Officials, or who at any time uses contemptuous or abusive language at the venue, whether to any of the judges, stewards or officials, may forfeit his or her right to any prizes to which he or she may be otherwise entitled and or face disciplinary action. Likewise, no abusive or aggressive treatment of horses will be tolerated.
3. PRIZE GIVING/ PARADES / DISPLAYS
Except in circumstances where special dispensation has been obtained from the Show Director, competitors must take part in any parade or display or Prizegiving. Failure to do so may result in forfeiture of any Prizemoney, Grading/Qualification Points and/or Trophies. Prizegiving of FS Dressage Floating Trophies will be held on SUNDAY, 16 October 2016 after the last class has finished +- 14:00.

5. SPECIAL RULES
5.1 All championships will be run as open classes, but Floating Trophies will only be awarded to highest scoring Free State rider in each championship.
5.2 All riders will be eligible to be the Open Free State Dressage Champions in each grade, but only Free State riders will be eligible for trophies. It is not compulsory to ride the Warm-Up classes. A horse/pony may only compete in the grade in which it is registered at DSA.
5.3All Championship Dressage tests must be ridden from memory, but a whip will be allowed.
5.4 Competitors may use the dressage competing arenas A and B from 09h00 to 18h00 on Thursday, 13October2016 and from 08:00-12:00 on Friday, 14 October 2016. The practice arenas may be used at any time on the same days until the end of the show.
5.5Competitors are required to ride in program order. It is the responsibility of competitors to report on time. Competitors not reporting on time may be eliminated.
5.6Kindly notify the Show Secretary as soon as possible of any scratching.
6.SCHOOLING OF HORSES:
On no account and under penalty of disqualification may any horse/pony take part in any class, which has been schooled under saddle by anyone other than the competitor concerned from the start of the first day of the show, until the end of the show.
7.NUMBER OF TESTS
No horse may compete in more than 2 tests per day including a Freestyle up to Medium level. Horses may only compete in 1 test at DSA Advanced level or FEI Prix St George level and above per day including Freestyles.
8.AMENDMENTS TO CLASSES
The organisers reserve the right to cancel, divide, postpone or combine classes provided such amendments are not in conflict with the rules. The organisers reserve the right to omit classes which are insufficiently supported.
9.No Temporary paddocks etc. may be erected inside any arena/paddock on the show grounds. If any horse is found there they will be disqualified from the show. Temporary paddocks may only be erected on the furthest western side area of the show grounds next to the concrete fence.
10.STEAK BRAAI
A Steak braai will follow immediately after the Freestyles on Saturday evening. Please come an join in the festivities. The cost is R120 per head which includes Chop, wors & sosaties with salad, slaai and a roll. Kindly book on the entry form.
