Policies & Director Duties

Monetary Policies

  1. All directors & committee members that represent the Saskatchewan Association of Combined Laboratory and X-ray Technicians are expected to promote a positive communication between membership and Board of Directors. On-going communication between the Board and general membership is essential to success.

All members shall:

1.1 Follow all pertinent articles within the Constitution & By-laws

1.2 Promote fiscal restraint by using all means of cost-saving measures,

ex.)Carpooling, combining board and/or regional and/or committee meetings, sharing accommodation whenever possible.

1.3 Be reimbursed for expenses according to policy:

Board meeting and sub-committee meetings:

-Mileage to be paid at the rate set yearly at the June board meeting

(Current rate: $0.475/km)

-Telephone, fax charges, photocopies – receipts required (photocopy of telephone bill)

-Meals maximum, breakfast $10.00, lunch $15.00, supper $25.00 – receipts must be provided

-Persons representing SACLXT meetings requiring SACLXT input $200.00 per day or $100.00 per half day, as a wage replacement.

-$100.00 per diem representation of SACLXT meetings at other than board meetings when wage replacement does not apply. (You may notclaim both)

-Evening before meeting hotel cost, if greater than 250 km away (or 2 hours)- receipt must be provided

-Additional expenses shall be pre-approved by the Board, ex.) Hotel after board meetings (extreme weather conditions)

1.4 Submit clearly dated and signed expense forms (accompanied by all receipts) detailing the expense. (ex. Postage for newsletters)

1.5 Honorariums will be paid in December for the current year. Amount moved and approved at AGM.

1.6 Convention speaker expenses

-$100.00honorarium or a gift.

-mileage at the Board rate, hotel expenses & photocopying if applicable

1.7 The equipment owned by SACLXT is to be used for SACLXT business only, -in order to extend the life of the equipment.

1.8 Banking for the SACLXT, if so able should use a bank common to rural Saskatchewan, for ease of changing signing authority.

1.9Polices to be reviewed yearly at June board meeting of SACLXT

1.10 SACLXT Credit card

- Necessity of credit card to be reviewed each year.

If necessary one card is to be issued to current President and one to current Treasurer

-$5000 credit limit

-Statements to be sent to treasure

-Treasurer to make timely lump sum payments upon receipt of monthly statement to avoid unnecessary interest charges

-To be used for costs related to expenses for SACLXT business purposes ex: accommodations, Alberta conference expenses, equipment purchases approved by members at AGM, fall conference costs.

-All receipts of use must be presented

1.11 Continuing Education Return to Industry Checklist

A) X-ray or Laboratory Return to Industry Checklist may be purchased separately by registered active members in good standing only

-Intent of use is for CLXT’s wishing to complete the Return to Industry checklist for the discipline in which they have worked the lesser hours.

B) CLXT’s wishing to access checklists for applying for new membership in accordance with Guidelines for Membership, must complete both checklists to obtain a membership. (Cost of $10.00 for checklist)

1.12 The SACLXT will purchase flowers for the graduating students of the CLXT program at Sask Polytechnic

1.13 SACLXT has developed a mobile Radiography Education one week program available at RUH arranged through Radiation OH&S and RUH Diagnostic Imaging offered free to SACLXT members.

1.14 CLXT week declared the 3rd week of October each year.

1.15Distinguished Graduate Award shall be awarded to the successful candidate for a dollar amount that reflects the current SACLXT Membership fee.

1.16 Lifetime members will have the AGM day fee waived on the year of nomination/acceptance.

1.17 There will be a $20.00 re-printing fee charged for the 8x10 SACLXT certificate if required by a member.

1.18 NAIT graduates do not have to write the ACCLXT entrance exam to qualify to be a SACLXT member.

1.19 The CLXT scope of practice chart given out by Saskatchewan Polytechnic will be used by only the President of the SACLXT. It is non-publishable and there is to be no distribution of said copy. It will be used at the discretion of the President of the SACLXT only.
