Policies and Procedures
· Entering the Classroom – students will enter classroom in orderly fashion. If I hear the bell ring and you’re not in the classroom, you’re late.
· Tardy Policy
o 1st & 2nd Tardies - Warning….entered in attendance
o 3rd Tardy and on – Referral and sent to AP’s office
· Conduct –Each student receives a grade of conduct in each class. This is a very important part of your school record. They will be shown on your progress reports and your report card. Referrals are given and so is in class detention
O = Outstanding S = Satisfactory N = Needs Improvement U = Unsatisfactory
· Course Materials – notebook paper, folder or notebook, pencil or pen, and textbook. You will have a random notebook check.
o 3rd Period = Ream of Paper/Tissues
o 4th Period = Dry Erase Markers/Colored Pencils/Tissues
· Class Set of books – Not required to bring home but you may sign out a book. Must bring back next day!
· End of Class Dismissal – you will not be dismissed until the bell. I will usually give you time before the bell rings to gather your stuff. DO NOT WRAP UP EARLY until we are done. Sometimes I might go over and teach up until the bell. DO NOT gather your things until I am done teaching. DO NOT try and stay at the door before the bell rings. Everyone MUST be in their seats when the bell rings. The classroom will stay after if the class is not left the way you entered it.
· When you are absent – RESPONSIBILITY is all yours. I will not follow you around and make sure you have everything you need. If you were absent, YOU MUST come to me for makeup materials or tests. If not, ZERO.
· Notebook/Folder Upkeep – you need to keep notes for the chapter we are on. I recommend you keep all your notes. They will be helpful come Mid-Term and Final Exam time.
· Collecting Work – if an assignment is due, you will know about it well in advance.
· Make Up Work – I will accept late work for Daily Grades up to two days. You will lose 20 points for each day you are late….once you elapse 2 days it becomes a zero. If you have an excused absent, you will have one extra day from the day you are absent at school. The next day you are present, the assignment is due. Please plan accordingly. Major Grades have one day late for a Maximum score of 70.
· Make up Tests – Make up tests will be done the next day you are in school. The tests will be announced well in advanced.
· BYOD Policy = PHONES – Your phones should not be seen and should be away in your bags.
o 1st Offense = I will tell you to put it away
o 2nd Offense = I will take your phone and parents get involved
o No one will use Plugs to charge phones
· All book bags and purses will go below your seat and not on your desk
· School is not meant for sleeping……..Do not put your head down for any reason!
· Acquiring something without disturbing others – If you need to sharpen your pencil or get a piece of paper just ask. Do not bother anyone on your destination.
· When the class finishes early – you can take this time and use it to your advantage. Take out your other class work and complete your homework. If the class finishes early I will tell you the class is yours.
· Electronic Devices are allowed for note taking at teacher’s discretion.
o If you abuse you lose!
· This is a classroom NOT an airport. No charging phones during class
· Seating Chart – No seating chart. Please find a seat and keep that seat for attendance purposes. Seat will change based on behavioral issues. Athletes and Extra-Circular students need to sit up front!
· Passes – passes are privileges and they are EARNED. You do for me I do for you.
· Heading of Papers – must be neat and legible. Label accordingly
· Fire Drill – everybody must stay together. If caught somewhere else you will be held accountable.
· Comparisons – do not compare punishments. Track records do apply.
· The Famous 3 R’s
· Follow the student handbook
· Respect others as you would like to be respected.
· Discipline yourself so no one else has to.
· Students will NEVER talk when other student is talking or the teacher is talking
· You must pick up the class and leave the class as you entered the class.
· Come to class prepared. There will be a class set of books.
· No throwing objects in class, you will be held accountable
