[1.] Brief summary of proposal (1 sentence)
1) The Youth / Police relations Committee focuses on reducing incidents of juvenile crime by developing relationships among Boston Police, the Community and local youth. Our objective is to identify the youth and families at risk and provide immediate services or resources. Our goal as an organization is to utilize the South West Corridor to incorporate fitness and healthy Youth and Police relationships.
[2.] Project Description. Describe the activities that would be supported by this funding.
2) With your support, the organization will be able to provide an 8 week instructed Zumba class beginning the end of June and ending in August one evening a week. During this time the organization will have water and healthy snack for the participants.
[3.] Building Awareness. (a.) Describe how your project will help youth or family participants in your program gain awareness and interest in the Southwest Corridor Park. (b.) Describe any publicity that you can provide, such as social media posts, newsletter articles, or other publicity. (c.) Describe any other project outcomes that will help to build community awareness about the park. Answers will vary depending on your project focus, such as photos, video production, history research, nature study, art show, special event, etc.
3) This activity will promote physical fitness within our local outdoor Parks and develop positive interactions between youth and police. The Zumba class will take place behind English High school between Williams Street / McBride. The activity will be publicized through distributed flyers, attending meeting, events, and the Boston Police website BPDNEWS.com. Performing Zumba in the park will attract people of all ages in the community. The weather will be hot, many people will frequent the outdoors and most of all enjoy listening to music and dancing.

[5.] Budget. Please provide a brief budget showing how much money is requested and how the funds will be used.
5) The $500.00 will cover the expenses of the Zumba instructor ($ 40.00 per class)
And the remainder will assist with the purchase of water and healthy snacks.
