Plymouth Board of Benevolence Mission: The Board of Benevolences will grow in love of God and neighbor by supervising and promoting the benevolence activities of our church.

General Purpose of Plymouth Special Offering Grants: To support local organizations that enhance the lives of our neighbors in need.

Specific Objective for Current Grant Period: This year Plymouth Congregational Church’s theme is “Heaven on Earth”; or as we know it, God’s Justice. The Board of Benevolence therefore seeks grant applications from non-profit organizations with projects that would fulfill that goal. These projects may include those that ease racism, relieve the burden of excessive incarceration, support immigration, and seek to help those affected by mental illness.

Grant Application Deadline: October 20, 2017

Selection Criteria:

1)  Application must have been received by the deadline date.

2)  Proposed project fulfills Plymouth and Board of Benevolence missions.

3)  Proposed project fulfills the stated objective/focus for the current grant period as above stated.

4)  Applicant has non-profit 501©(3) status, or has fiscal agent.

5)  Finalist applicants must make a 10-minute presentation to the Board of Benevolence.

6)  Applicant is from Des Moines metro area.

7)  Applicant did not receive a Plymouth BOB grant the previous year.
