Description:

For forecasting the clinical trials operations performed, the client expected to have a summarized view of its strategic details through ETL Operations. So, all the analytical details from the clinical trials which are stored in the form of tables have been staged into a different landing zone (Staging database). Report specific Dimension and Fact level tables are generated based on the staged source.

Responsibilities:

  • Requirements gathering and discussion with the Clients/users to understand the Business Logic for specific requests
  • Developing complex mappings which involve handling all the transformations while extracting the source and hence increasing its performance

Thus the information from different interfaces was selected to store in common SMART Supplies – Forecasting system which stores data in the xml format.

Responsibilities:

  • Designing and building of the data warehousing components and providing support for User Acceptance Testing and deployment of application

The transformation of data from the Ingenix data store (IDS) tables into the Ingenix common format (ICF) tables form the core of the project. The data from the IDS table are transformed as per the ingenix standard formats. The transformed data is stored as a flat file and loaded into the ICF tables using shell scripts. This transformation is done for six subject areas (Drug, Medical, Health Risk appraisal (HRA), LAB, Workers Productivity (WP) and Eligibility).

The Nextgen team receives data feeds and process them through well defined steps before the data is sent to the Galaxy team for use by Optum. This process includes transforming data source specific data file formats to an Ingenix Standard format and is also subjected to Data quality processes following standard protocols. Data from the ICF tables are extracted and transformed based on the business requirements and loaded into flat files. This process is done for the subject areas Eligibility, Medical and drug

Description:

Ingenix - DSO Operations is the maintenance and support project for the DSOWeb related jobs. The data sources (feeds) obtained as a flat file are usually converted to Ingenix Common Format (ICF) by Perl jobs which are assured for quality by set of SAS jobs before performing the ETL works through Datastage and oracle jobs. The ETL section of process generally differs based on the subject areas, for example, eligibility, drug, Medical, health risk appraisal etc.,

Responsibilities:

  • DSOWeb Production Support activities, which involves fixing the issue tickets on MQC
  • Start/Pause/Stop/Abort the production job execution
  • Setting up the environment for test and production runs
  • Moving the Job Instruction Language (JIL) for Autosys, Mappings, codes from development to Production
  • Jil creation and uploading in Autosys to test/schedule the jobs in test and production environment
  • Performing several test run of the Autosys jobs on different environments before production move
  • Running various feedfiles for aiding regression testing and reconciliation
  • Performing End – End production run and fixing of DSOWeb jobs which are comprised of different components that were developed in Java, Perl(for Reformat), SAS(for Data quality), Datastage(for ETL) and Oracle(Load).

Highlights:

  • Got appreciationfrom client and also by Sr Manager of the project for the continued hard workput forth in running the end to end process
  • Learned DSOWeb project flow in a very short time that helped me get into Datastage development.
