Dear ___,

If you are really lucky, you meet one or two truly inspirational people in your life. My dear friend, Larry Smith, is one of those people. Facing Parkinson’s and the sudden end to a career in law enforcement, Larry turned to baking, started a restaurant, found a novel way to exercise and get around, all the while becoming an even more beloved figure in his community.

Please watch the trailer and read the note below from my friends Katie and Ricardo,Parkinson’s advocates who are raising money to produce a documentary that features Larry. Watch the trailer. Then, please consider a generous tax-deductible donation.

Time is of the essence. They’ve come a long way but need to raise an additional $12,000 by February 1 to move forward to the next phase of production.

Finally, please forward this to friends that might be interested in this project. Even if this isn’t your thing, you may have friends with family members or who are themselves in a battle against Parkinson’s or some other disease and would like to support this film.

Thanks!

Our film, Ride with Larry puts a human face on day-to-day life of Parkinson's patients while emphasizing a positive mind and active body. We have the support of several great organizations including the Davis Phinney Foundation, National Parkinson Foundation, EGR International, and Exercycle.
The film will follow Larry as he rides his bike across South Dakota this June pushing his limits and expanding the boundary of possibilities for those with Parkinson's disease. Weaved amongst the progress of Larry’s ride is an intimate portrait of the every day battle against Parkinson’s—the voice therapy, exercise routine, medications, interviews with experts, and the community love that makes it all worthwhile.

We’ve already produced a film trailer that will give you a sense of the power behind this project.

We need your help to turn Ride with Larry into a feature length documentary for the Parkinson’s community. This film will make a difference in the lives of those with Parkinson’s as well as their family members, and caretakers. In fact, anyone facing a life altering illness will find inspiration in Ride with Larry..

Please consider making a donationto Ride with Larry today.

Thank you,

Katie & Ricardo
