  • We started our number scrolls! The first graders are very excited about the progress they are making on them. Please be sure to ask your child how far they made it this week.
  • If you would like to help your child review for their spelling/sight words, the words are on the back/bottom. Spelling City can also be used to review their spelling words.
  • This week in religion we discussed the Feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe and started our chapter on the Holy Family.
  • Thank you again for sending in all of the wonderful foods from your heritage. This week the first graders enjoyed trying English Biscuits, Dutch Apple Pie,Dutch Windmill cookies, Italian Christmas cookies, Polish Kielbasa, PolishKremowki, Vietnamese Steamed layer cake, and Irish Colcannon.
  • If you would like to help your child study for their test on magnets, here is what they should know: When a magnet pulls toward something, this means it is attracted to the item. A magnet has two poles. Things that have iron in them can attract a magnet. If you put a North pole next to a South pole, it will attract. If you put a North pole next to a North pole, it will repel. Name two things that magnets are not attracted to.
