Financial Aid Checklist

I. Are you in default on any loans? YES NO If YES you are NOT eligible to receive

federal student aid until ALL defaults are resolved. Contact the school where the loan was

originated to resolve the default.

II. Complete the following items by visiting.

Complete the FAFSA online. - All students

Complete the Entrance Counseling online. -(students new to HTS financial aid)

Complete the Master Promissory Note (MPN) for subsidized and unsubsidized loans online.- (students new to HTS financial aid)

III. Complete the following requirements at Hood Theological Seminary.

You must be registered for at least six credit hours (half time).

HTS Financial Aid Application:This is a document that ALL students will need to complete. A new application is required for each academic year. Please find the application by visiting the myHood page and
selecting the financial aid tab.

Hood Theological Seminary Direct Deposit Form: Available refunds will be deposited to the student’s account. Download the form by visiting the financial aid page at – (students new to HTS financial aidOR returning student who have a change of banking information)

IV. Financial aid updates will be sent via email.

Many students have found financial aid information in the spam box. Add to your address book to ensure you will receive updates.

Check email and myHood for updates.

The financial aid office will contact you if additional information is needed.

V. Important Dates

These dates indicate when disbursements will start. These dates are applicable to students who have completed ALL steps and submitted ALL necessary documents. The financial aid office will notify individuals as refunds are prepared for deposit.

VI. Late Applications

Late applicants are not guaranteed funds. Late applications will be processed only after ALL other students have received disbursements. In order to be processed ALL steps must be completed and ALL documents must be returned prior to the provided dates. Applicationsfor the semester will NOT be processed after the provided dates.
