NOTE: Charity law defines the persons having the general control and management of the administration of the Charity as 'charity trustees'. For the purposes of a charitable company, this means that the directors of the company, are known both as directors and charity trustees. This application is therefore to be appointed as a director and trustee of The Sheffield Cats Shelter.
Thank you for your interest in becoming a Trustee of The Sheffield Cats Shelter. We ask all applicants for Trusteeship to complete this application form as part of the following process:
Stage / PurposeApplication / This initial form, along with the documents that we have supplied will enable you to identify whether you want to pursue the application, and helps us to identify your skills and where we could best use them.
Informal discussion with the Trustees / If you have the skills we need, we will invite you to attend an informal discussion with the Trustees about the work we do, the role of a Trustee and the skills and experience you could add to the board. You are welcome to contact us before expressing an interest in the role. For an informal chat about the role and your suitability.

Invitation to a Management meeting and / Following the informal discussion, you may be invited to attend a management meeting to give you the opportunity to meet the management team and to gain more insight into the Charity.
Interview / If selected, you will be invited to an interview with the Trustees.
Prior to Appointment / If a Trustee position is offered and accepted, we will contact the referees you have supplied, and conduct the necessary financial checks.
Appointment to the Board of Trustees / Following satisfactory checks the appointment will be completed. A full induction programme will be put in place to familiarise you with the organisation and operations of the Sheffield cats Shelter.
Please note that all Trustee positions within The Sheffield Cats Shelter are unpaid voluntary positions.
