Course objective:
The course aims at giving an update on the common Modus Operandi of property fraud and offering some advice on precautionary measures. The major features of Hong Kong Smart Identity Card will also be discussed.

Mr. Ng Chat, Charles is a detective senior inspector of Police who is currently attached to the Fraud Section of Commercial Crime Bureau (CCB) of the Hong Kong Police Force. Fraud Section of CCB is responsible for investigations into serious and complex commercial fraud, obtaining property or pecuniary advantage by deception, false accounting and offences of a kindred nature.
Miss Hui Yat Ling, Graceis aSenior Immigration Officer who is currently attached to the Operational Research Section (ORS) of the Hong Kong ImmigrationDepartment. ORS is the central body of intelligence exchange in thedepartment in the aspects of clandestine migration and the use of forged documents

  1. The course is open to all solicitors and trainee solicitors. Enrolments will be accepted on a first-come-first-served basis, with priority given to those who are subject to the CPD and RME obligations.
  2. If you cannot attend a booked course which is free of charge, written notification must be received by the Hong Kong Academy of Law at least one clear working day before the date of the booked course. Otherwise, you may not be given priority when you register to attend the Academy future free courses.
  3. Only those who have been allocated a seat will receive a confirmation letter from the Academy. Those who have not received a confirmation letter from the Academy before the date of the course shall treat their registrations for the free course unsuccessful.
