London is the capital of the UK and England. It lies in the south east of England, on the river Thames. The main feature of London is its multiculturalism with its 8 million inhabitants from all over the world. It is crossed by many historic bridges. The most recent is The Millennium Bridge, built in 2000.

London is divided into 33 different boroughs. Only 13 are in the center and they can be divided grouped into three main areas: the City, Westminster and the West End.

The City is the oldest part and London financial district with the Stock Exchange. Here it is possible to admire many places of interest such as St. Paul Cathedral, The Tower of London, a fortified Norman building, Tower Bridge, one of the most famous landmarks in London.

The Westminster area is rich in monuments and buildings closely related to the history and politics of the nation: Westminster Abbey, the place where Kings and Queens are coronated and buried; the Houses of Parliament and the Big Ben; Buckingham Palace, the Queen's residence in London.

The West End is London's main entertainment and shopping district. In this area there is Trafalgar Square, where Londoners gather for major events, Oxford Streeto with over 300 shops, Covent Garden, full of street performers, Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus also caled "the hub of the world", where the majority of theatres and leisure centres are located.

London is also rich in parks such as Hyde Park, Green Park, St James Park, Regent Park, which are spectacular and amazing.

Other popular attractions in London are Madame Tussaud's, a wax museum, the British Museum, the Natural History Museum and the Science Museum, and the Millennium Wheel, also called London Eye, built in 2000 to celebrate the New Millennium.

in London you can buy everything you want because there are nearly 30,000 shops of all kinds. The most famous streets are Regent Street Bond Street and Oxford Street. Hamleys is the world' s greatest toy shop; Harrods is the world's most famous luxury department; Portobello Road and Camden Market are also popular attractions.

In London you can travel around by Underground, commonly called The Tube, by bus, the legendary "double-decker", by taxi, the famous black taxis also called "cabs" by Londoners.
