9:45am-10amFundamentals overview (BBLF – throw from the warning track to grass)

Snap (spinners) – hand behind ball, ball in front of body, body pushing/not pulling

Long, loose, whippy arm – fast through release, speed up through release

Throwing arm and drag leg timing through release, firm stride leg

“Skinny” at toe touch, all arrows to catcher, drag knee under drag hip, head over belly button

Heel up, toe down push, knee in front of toes, on powerline

Neutral, Ready, Set (balanced on mound, weight shifts, attack position)

Drop One, Drop Two, Drop None – shoulders stay square to catcher.

10am-10:20amFundamentals –upper body emphasis (5-minutes*all drills done together, no rotating)

Wrist snaps, just in front of back hip, heel up toe down

9 o’clock from 30 ft – must be fast and whippy to get it to partner

(pocket radar, pitching gadgets as needed)

11:20am-11:45amDefense (SB field) (Two groups: P1 on SB field with DG/sac, P2 on practice field with HS/Z)

(2 bats, 2 buckets, 2 throwing base sacs)

Ground ball, run it to 1B/squeeze (toss to fungoer)

Bunt, throw to 1B/double play to 2B

Backhand ground ball, throw it to 1B/ground ball/throw to 3B

Coach KJ/Gutty/Lea: Bombs away and dives LC

Kujo/Brac: Bunts to 1B and 2B

Jordy/Zack: Throw-downs to each base- record H-2B pop time 2x in LF closest to INF

12:45pm-1:45pmx30 JJ’s, then Hitting Stations (BOTH PITCHERS & CATCHERS) (7 minutes) –KJ give hitting

1:50pm-3pmMovement Pitches (BB LF) – catchers move with pitchers

***Get into three groups (for each drill), 4 minutes per drill, full pitch for 6 minutes

(empty bucket, spinners, footballs, noodles, frisbees)

1:50pm-2:10pmChange-must sell it, height importance at “decision point”,must change speeds

9 o’clock-work your grip to catcher-HS

Ball knee/one leg to catcher-DG

Distance change up-Z

2:10pm-2:30pmRollover drop- head and chest with front foot, holding cup of water at 9 o’clock then dump it out

Kneel and spin with spinner to catcher then 9 o’clock into bucket-DG

Back foot on bucket with spinner, then ball-Z

Full arm circle to catcher-HS

2:30pm-2:50pmRise-head and chest with back leg, holding cup of water at 9 o’clock, open a door knob

From release position, spin backwards to catcher/footballs-Z

Front foot on bucket from 9 o’clock with spinner, then ball-DG

Phase drill then ball knee-HS

2:50pm-3:10pmCurve-ball up at 9 o’clock, palm up through finish, slight chest leadto get elbow down

Frisbees from 9 o’clock-HS
