Charles (Smitty) Schmitt Walk #37. Member of First Methodist-Oklahoma City and the Bridge AG-Mustang. Have served as TA, Table Leader, Assistant Table Leader, Assistant Lay Director, and helped with setup, kitchen, and security. I would like to be able to put my experience with Emmaus to use in a new capacity by serving on the board because of the deep meaning Emmaus has for me. That meaning comes from being set free from a bondage of guilt and condemnation on my Walk that had plagued me for 17 years. I hope to help make that same freedom available to others by serving on the board.

Judie Ellis Walk #76, UM Church of the Servant “On The Road with Him” Reunion Group Since my original Walk in February, 2002, I can’t seem to stay away from Emmaus Walks, and have served somewhere on most Walks since. Behind the scenes, I’ve served as Dining Room Manager, Agape Manager, in the Prayer Room, Kitchen, and with Snacks. In the Conference Room, I’ve served as Table Leader, Assistant Table Leader and Assistant Lay Director. No matter where I serve, I am blessed beyond measure each and every time. In my Church, I’ve been active in Women’s Ministries and the “Seekers” Sunday School Class. I’ve participated in and facilitated numerous Bible Studies, and, as Emmaus Coordinator, have been very involved in bringing our Church Emmaus Community together. Serving on the Board would be an opportunity to “give back” to others what Emmaus and the Pioneer Country Emmaus Community have given to me.

Cyvil B. Burks, Sr. Walk # 89, adoptive table of Luke, FUM of OKC. I am active in my church: pastor's prayer shield team ministry, worship team for prayer and praise, choir member, lead a small group study on Experiencing God, church counsel-member, church leadership, active in the men's ministry. I have taught Sunday school, preached and been a license minister with the Assemblies of God. Because of my personal experience with Emmaus, the people I have been able to bless through service and love, the valued friendships made, I seek your votes to serve God and the body of Christ and those without Christthat come to experience God in a personal and powerful way.

Kathy Clevenger Walk #106, Church of the Good Shepherd. I would like to run for a spot on the board as I feel it is a way for me to help the Emmaus Community.

Ray Clevenger Walk #103, Church of the Good Shepherd. I feel that I can use my God given gifts to help bring my leadership skills to the table and help bring new ideas to the board.

Stephen Frazier Walk #71 First Christian Church of Moore. I want to serve on the board to bring back Chrysalis, work closer with Kairos and to let more people know about EMMAUS to fill the walks. We must never forget the purpose of EMMAUS is to train church leaders. The walks are tools that God uses to reach people.

Bill Parks, Walk #13,First UMC, Oklahoma City, “Cox-Parks Early Risers” Reunion Group.

I am in the choir, serve as lay delegate to Annual Conference, serve on Staff Parish Relations Committee, teach Sunday School, am a Certified Lay Speaker, and serve as Service Coordinator for the “Guardians”. Since my original Walk to Emmaus I have had the opportunity to giveseveral talks, be table leader severaltimes, be an ALD (3 times) andserve as Lay Director of Walk 41. My spiritual gift is serving so myreason for wanting to be on the board is to serve our Lord in one of theareas of the board

Don Ellis, Walk #75, Church of the Servant, “On the Road with Him” Reunion Group. In February, 2002, I met our Risen Christ on my Walk to Emmaus. I went as a reluctant pilgrim, not realizing how it would change my life. I just can’t imagine not having Emmaus in my life. Because of Emmaus, I became more active in my Church, facilitating Bible Studies and doing local mission work with my Sunday School class. I have remained very active in the Emmaus Community, too, serving behind the scenes, and in the Conference Room, and I have previously had the privilege of serving on the Board as the Newsletter Editor and Facilities Manager. I’ve been Dining Room Manager several times and have worked in the kitchen and with set-up and tear-down on most Walks since my original one. I’ve served as Table Leader, Assistant Table Leader and Assistant Lay Director in the Conference Room. It would be an honor to represent you on Pioneer Country’s Board of Directors.

Mike Berggren, Walk # 81, New BeginningsWorld Wide Church of God, “Neighbors and Friends” Reunion Group. My Walk to Emmaus was a very special time for me, just as I’m sure yours was for you, too. It encouraged me to be more active in my Church and to evangelize and share my faith as I never had before, and it left me committed to serving the Pioneer Country Emmaus community. I’ve served behind the scenes at almost every Walk since, doing everything from set-up to tear-down, with cooking and serving meals in between. I’ve also been blessed to serve as Table Leader and Assistant Table Leader in the Conference Room. If given the opportunity to serve on your Board, it will be my privilege to represent you.

Cathy Williams-White, Walk #100, New Covenant UMC. After some heartfelt consideration and prayer, I would like to submit myself as a nominee for the Pioneer Country Emmaus Board. My Walk was pivotal in my Christian journey. I had always thought I had a relationship with God but the Walk showed me that I never truly felt or fully understood the total and unconditional "Love" of our Father until that moment. Since that time I've felt committed to bringing others to that place and to participating fully and wholly with my church. I do participate in a Sunday School class , the Road Warriors, as well as a Small Group.Currently I am serving as New Covenant's Network Team co-chair. I have been aware for some time that our church does not have a Single Mom's ministry nor even a Singles ministry per se. This season I've started a Single Mom's group on our Wednesday evening Living Room. So far we are small but committed and have plans for it to be an ongoing group. This past year I have been taking the training for Stephen Ministry with New Covenant. Our class will be commissioned on October 5th.Thank you for considering me. I would welcome the opportunity to use any of my talents or gifts towards the benefit of Pioneer Country Walk to Emmaus if selected for the board.

Laura Woods, Walk#.16 B, I attend Destiny Christian Center in Del City, OK.(Assembly of God). I attend the Krazy Kluckers Reunion Group at St. Matthew's UMC in Midwest City, Oklahoma. I am involved with a life group through my church. I also work in the children's ministry and teach a 3-5 year old class called Rainbows through the M-Pact Girls program. The reason I would like to run for the Emmaus Board is because I would like to be able to serve the Pioneer Country in a new way! I have been blessed to serve as Table Leader, Asst. Table Leader, Musician, Prayer Room, Team Asst. and Asst. Lay Director. I feel like it's time for me to give back to a group of some of the best Christian people I have met!

Chelsea Hunt, Walk #92, New Beginnings/Crosswalk Community Church, reunion group with

Family (name TBD).Emmaus member for 3 years, Crosswalk camp Counselor for 6 years, & on a Leadership team at church for 8 years.b I decided to run for the Emmaus board, because I strongly believe that the sacrifices of others I experienced from my original walk and others walks I serve on, stirs up inside of me a desire to not only give back, but to share boldly the love of God for his children.

Mark Bye, Walk#17 Superiorland Emmaus (Upper Peninsula Michigan), Church of the Good Shepherd UMC, Promise Keepers. Stevens Ministries, Pioneer Country Emmaus, Kairos & Horizons DCF Holdenville OK. Since my original walk God has been preparing me and my spiritual maturity has grown in ways I never expected. I have served as a team member by giving a talk and being a table leader and assistant table leader on multiple weekends to include Walk to Emmaus, Kairos and Chrysalis weekends. Since I have moved to Oklahoma two years ago I have been very attentive and listening to where God wants me to serve. God has lead me to become a Stevens Minister and to be more active in the Emmaus and Kairos communities. Accepting a leadership role in Pioneer Country Emmaus will allow me to continue to serve others in a way in which God is directing me to serve Him.

Char Juge, Walk#72, LifechurchTv (Edmond), Szabina Lifegroup/Reunion Group. I would like to run for the board because I feel that I am called to serve this community. We have many wonderful times to serve pilgrims but I believe that change is coming. As a working community, we need to be willing to step up and face the challenge of those changes as God calls us to do. I believe that we need strong people who are willing to help facilitate these changes, to help encourage those that are new to the community to step up, and to rebuild those relationships that have slipped by and are no longer participating in the wonderful thing called Emmaus.
