PCMS Student Agenda:

The school will provide your child with one student agenda. This agenda is to be used on a daily basis to document assignments, homework, and the behavior of your child. There is also a school calendar and other useful information for you and your child.

Expectations:

To ensure academic and social success, high expectations are in place for each student. Students must abide by the behavioral guidelines in the student handbook and grade level behavior plan.

We expect students to:

Be ready to learn.

Be respectful to everyone.

Be responsible at all times.

Students must bring their agenda, notebook, paper, and pen/pencil to class every day. All work is expected to be turned in on the assigned due date.

Homework: Current events and other projects will be assigned throughout the year.

Students will be responsible for a monthly non-fiction book project based on one of the following topics: geography, history, culture, biography, science or an environmental concern that relates to one of the following continents: Europe, South America, Australia, and also Canada.

Make-up Work Due to an Absence: Pickens County Middle School makeup policy will be followed. When students are absent, it is the responsibility of the student to see the teacher to receive the makeup work. Projects will be an exception to this because they are long-term assignments and should be completed on time. Missed tests are to be scheduled with the teacher.

Late Work: Students will be required to attend remediation with me or afterschool detention. Late work will be accepted with a penalty of 10 points for each day it is not handed in on time.
