NATIONAL FOOTBALL MUSEUM RELAUNCHES WEBSITE

NEW FULLY RESPONSIVE SITE INCLUDES EXPANDED ONLINE SHOP

THE NATIONAL Football Museum has spent their pre-season giving their website a makeover as they officially launch a new, fully responsive platform.

Working with Manchester agency Reading Room, the redevelopment is part of the museum’s wider strategy to continue to grow online engagement and improve online presence – with an increased focus on an international audience.

A key feature of the new site is an expanded online shop that will cater to fans of the beautiful game from around the globewith a broadened product range of art, gifts, games and football memorabilia. A simplified ordering, checkout and payment process will help ensure a much quicker shopping experience for customers.

The new easy-to-use navigation system includesa new calendar within the ‘What’s On’ section making it easier for visitors to search for events and activities on a date by date basis. The new ‘What’s Inside’ section clearly shows what can be found on each level of the museum.

Plans are also afoot for the launch of a new collections section, initially showcasing over 1000 objects within the museum thanks to a grant from the Arts Council.

Visitors to the site will be able to search a range of categories including clubs, equipment, medals, trophies and competitions to discover and learn about the museum’s collections. Visitors can also create personalised ‘scrapbooks’ by adding their own objects and mementoes to help the museum build a fan-generated story of football.

Philippa Duxbury, marketing manager at the National Football Museum said: “We’re excited to launch the new website and increase our online footprint both nationally and internationally. It’ll be easier than ever for visitors to plan their visits and discover more about what the museum has to offer.

“The expanded online shop offers unique football gifts unavailable anywhere else on the web and will form an important revenue stream for the free entry museum. Themoney raised from the shop will help fund the likes of new exhibitions and collections maintenance to ensure we continue to provide a first rate experience for all our visitors.”
