Phonics and Phonemic Awareness Lesson Suggested Pacing

The suggested pacing was designed to assist teachers with instructional resourceswith skills necessary for students to meet the Foundational Skills Standards.

Suggestions for use:

  • Determine how many days you will need to cover lessons with the standards found under CCSS Foundational Skills 2 A-F and 3 A-D.
  • Incorporate the suggestions listed below into your daily instruction as appropriate.
  • Resources for Supporting CCSS Reading-Foundational Skills 2013 (RSCRF).
  • The 30 high-frequency words are the minimum number of words students should know by the end of the year benchmark. Work with

your grade-level team to determine pacing and any additional high-frequencywords that will be taught.
