PHMS PTO/SITE COUNCIL MEETING MINUTES 4/6/2017

Attendees: Cammie Bobo, Barb Luman, Dawn Hamon, Janet Burr, and Todd Fredrickson.

Minutes: The minutes from the 3/2/17 meeting were read and a motion was made by Barb Luman to approve, Dawn Hamon seconded the motion.

Treasurer’s Report: The treasurer’s report was reviewed by attendees, and Janet Burr reported that the checking account balance is $8,160.33. There are still a few teacher checks from Box Tops that have not been cashed yet, and the only deposit was $400.47 from Dillon’s Rewards. Barb Luman made a motion to approve the report, Dawn Hamon seconded.

Box Tops: Cammie sent in Box Tops for the March deadline, and they are still being processed. As soon as she finds out the totals, she will disperse checks to the teachers before the end of the year. She will also put a section in the PTO president notebook for next year, to help out the person doing Box Tops.

Spring Fun Night: Everything is all set for the fun night, Friday May 5th 7-9pm, for 6th and 7th grade.

Teacher Appreciation: Amy is doing candy bars for April, Cammie will pick them up from Sam’s.

PTO officers for 2017-2018: The meeting time for next year will change to the first Thursday of each month at 7:30 am instead of noon. Officers will be chosen at the May meeting, invitations will be sent to Union Valley, Buhler Grade, and Plum Creek to invite incoming 6th grade parents to attend this meeting. The last meeting on 5/4/17 will be a morning meeting at 7:30, and a light breakfast will be served.

Dillon’s Rewards: The check for $400.47 deposited on 3/9/17 was for the October-December 2016 quarter.

8th grade recognition/celebration: Recognition is Monday, May 15th 7pm at the Sports Arena. Mr. Fred will check into plants/flowers for the stage and whether PTO needs to help with these decorations. Student celebration will be Tuesday, May 16th 8am-2pm at All Star Sports. With donations, the cost per student is $8.14 at this time, the committee hopes to get the price down to $5.00 per student.

Other business: PTO is doing two concession stands at the high school for upcoming track meets-April 10th for a PHMS participation track meet, and April 27th for the PHMS Invitational. Emails will be sent out for volunteers to help work these events.

Mr. Fred:

  1. State assessments went well, the length of time of the testing is much improved as expected.
  2. Staffing-Brittany Hines has been hired for 6-7th grade chorus.
  3. Mr. Seuser (Ag Teacher) is taking the AD position at the high school, so this will create an open position.
