Pharmacology assignment for nurses

Each student should search pharmacology books and/or the internet and find out information about 50 different drugs from the list below. Choose one drug from each line. After reading the information, the student should summarize each drug by his/her own HAND WRITING. The following information should be included about each drug:

Generic name

Trade name. Look for the names used in Gaza Strip, ask a pharmacist about the local names.

Classification

Pregnancy category.

Action, brief discretion.

Dose, adult dose

Uses.

Contraindications

Side effects.

Nursing interventions (Considerations)

The reference (the book or web page) for each drug

Please notice:

  1. You should handwrite the assignment (typed assignments will not be accepted).
  2. Don’t just copy from the book or the web page. Read the book or web page and then summarize it.
  3. Don’t copy from your friend’s work. If this should happen, both students will be penalized.
  4. Don't copy from my handout. If you do so, you will receive a ZERO.
  5. Write the reference (the book or web page) for each drug.
  6. Start each drug on a new page and use a number for each drug.
  7. Use different color for the topics mentioned above (trade name, uses, nursing interventions, etc)
  8. Use only one drug from each line, for example, in line 1, you will find that there are the following drugs: Ampicillin, Amoxycillin, procaine penicillin, or crystalline penicillin. Choose one of these drugs and this will be drug no. 1.
  9. Assignment should be turned in first week of December.
