Frankie’s World Foundation is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) charitable organization created to enrich the lives of young children with special medical needs. The Foundation provides for the health and well-being of children age birth to 12 years who are medically-fragile, technology-dependent, or have been diagnosed with life-threatening illnesses. We encourage and inspire this special population of children to reach for the highest possible goals – intellectually, socially and physically.

The Foundation operates Frankie’s World, Philadelphia’s only non-profit day care center for children with special health care needs. It is a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care Center or PPECC, licensed by the State of Pennsylvania. It opened on July 19, 2006, and is centrally located in Northern Liberties to be accessible to children from all parts of Philadelphia. The center is staffed by experienced pediatric nurses and special needs educators. The center provides a medically safe environment for this special population of children to make friends and learn about the world while their parents are at work or school. It is an exciting place where kids can be kids!

During the summer months we run a summer camp for order children. This camp provides nursing care as well as keeping skills learned during the school year fresh. We are looking for help in the area of education. Our camp-goers are between the ages of 6 to 12 years of age. I feel this would be a great opportunity for anyone interested in early education or in the medical field. Our center is located at 1011 Poplar Street in Philadelphia. We are only 6 blocks from Temple’s main campus.

Persons interested in a summer internship should send letter and resume to :
