PERSONAL CONTRIBUTION STATEMENT

PERSONAL QUALITIES

I am an honest, trustworthy, self-motivated and reliable person. I adapt well in different situations and enjoy a challenge. I always put my full effort into everything and do the task to the best of my ability. I am enthusiastic, friendly and co-operative both in and out of school.

PERSONAL SKILLS

I have excellent ICT skills and have shown that I am good at solving problems. I work well in a team and am also capable of working independently. I have a very good attendance and punctuality record which I have regularly gained certificates for. I always try to meet dead-lines.

ACADEMIC ACHIEVEMENTS

I particularly enjoy ICT, French and Art and I am estimated to attain grade A’s in these subjects. I have already gained GCSE’s in Maths, Science and English, all A-C grades. I expect to get a further 7 GCSE’s, grade A-C.

OTHER ACHIEVEMENTS AND AWARDS

I have a Duke of Edinburgh’s Award. I have taken part in a sponsored silence and a sponsored walk to raise money for a charity. I received a certificate last year for most improved pupil.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND INVOLVEMENT IN SCHOOL LIFE

In Year 11 I was elected as a Prefect. This includes supervising areas of school at dinner time, co-operating with staff, working with groups and attending functions out of school hours. I am also a member of the Year Council. I have taken part in school shows and have given a presentation about to Year 6 pupils about life at secondary school.

INTERESTS AND LEISURE ACTIVITES OUTSIDE OF SCHOOL

Outside school I enjoy many sports, socialising, listening to chart music, reading and drawing. I play netball for a local team and have been Captain of the team for over a year. For the past two years I have been a member of Bolton Octagon’s activ8 youth theatre group. I have worked with other members of the group to plan, write and stage three productions.

WORK EXPERIENCE PLACEMENT

My work experience placement was at Manchester Magistrates Court. I played an active role in the Department I worked on. I observed court cases and made accurate notes on its proceedings. I thoroughly enjoyed this placement as it gave me an insight into what working life is like and made me felt a worthy and respected member of the team.

FUTURE PLANS

I realise the work I have ahead of me in Year 11 and I plan to achieve good GCSE results. This will enable me to have as many options possible post-16. I have applied to go to 6th form college to study ALevels in ICT, French and Art. I would like to go onto university to study a course which will allow me to have a good future career. I have not yet decided on a future career.
