EXPERIENCE /
  • Significant post-qualification social work experience
  • Experience of working as a manager in the context of palliative care, community development or related area
  • Substantial experience of team and individual staff management and professional supervision
  • Substantial experience of monitoring and improving quality of service provision
  • Significant experience of leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing change.
  • Experience of managing and coordinating complex case-work negotiating across professional groups and agencies.
  • Substantial experience of managing safeguarding incidents and complex risk events that involve vulnerable adults.
  • Experience of delivering projects in partnership with health and third sector agencies
  • Substantial experience of managing staff and volunteers, including recruitment, supervision, performance management.
  • Substantial experience of educating and facilitating learning in a variety of environments.
  • Significant experience of frequentlymanaging distressing situations, and evidence of emotional resilience.
  • Experience of overseeing the delivery of projects, meeting milestones and project outcomes.
  • Experience of managing budgets, keeping accurate financial records and writing budget reports.

KNOWLEDGE AND UNDERSTANDING /
  • Up to date and accurate knowledge of legislation for provision of adult social care services to vulnerable adults, including continuing care legislation and process.
  • Knowledge of policy issues relevant to palliative care, welfare benefits and community development.
  • Detailed knowledge of national adult safeguarding legislation and procedure, and CQC regulatory requirements.
  • Understanding of the impact of life threatening illness and disability and their treatment upon individuals and families and the resources available to them.

  • In depth understanding of the ethos of palliative care and supporting people and their families at the end of life.
