Job purpose
This post is based in the Widening Participation Office (WPO) at the University of Bath and is open to recent graduates (normally within one year) and to current students looking for a paid placement opportunity.
The post is focussed on delivery of STEM outreach and requires enthusiasm, energy and flexibility as well as a commitment to widening participation. Working as part of the WPO STEM team the postholder will work with the Project Officers to deliver a range of STEM-based activities including campus visits, in-school projects, Bath Taps into Science and STEM summer schools. This post would be suitable for a student ambassador or a student engaged in other forms of community or outreach activity.
You will be part of an intern programme in the department and will undertake joint activities and training opportunities.

You will need to have a valid DBS or apply for one, a clean driving licence and be prepared to work outside of office hours.
Main duties and responsibilities
1 / Support STEM staff in the organisation and delivery of Taster Days, Summer Schools and similar activities as well as support the planning and delivery of the Bath Taps into Science Festival
2 / Support STEM staff in the design, organisation and delivery of school-based initiatives with primary and lower secondary school students
3 / Give presentations about university life and the course offer at Bath and partner universities and colleges at campus-based activities and in schools and college
4 / Collect basic evaluation and monitoring data related to WPO activity.
5 / Undertake general office duties such as preparing packs of materials for events and booking the STEM mobile lab
6 / You will from time to time be required to undertake other duties of a similar nature as reasonably required by your line manager. You are required to follow all University policies and procedures at all times and take account of University guidance.
