Person Specification

Regional Managers are required to work both independently and within a team to develop a strategy to maximise all revenue and awareness opportunities for The Leprosy Mission.

Essential Skills

  • Proven track record of success as a community fundraiser or have the requisite sales and marketing experience gained in the business sector
  • Proven track record of personally generating funds/sales in excess of £100,000
  • Practising Christian, actively involved in a local congregation and able to lead church services across different church settings
  • Excellent analytical skills, sound judgment and decision making, and the ability to carry through difficult decisions
  • Good IT and social media skills, including a thorough working knowledge of MS Office applications, email and accessing the Internet
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Exceptional presentation skills
  • Relationship building skills, with the ability to develop effective working relationships and influence supporters, colleagues and volunteers
  • Excellent volunteer management skills with the ability to identify, recruit, train and manage a cadre of volunteers in your region
  • Passion for helping those who are marginalised
  • Able to undertake extensive travel within the UK and an overseas project visit every 2 years
  • Educated to degree standard or equivalent relevant professional experience
  • Valid UK Driving Licence

Desirable Skills

  • Creative with the ability to think outside the box and ahead of the curve, with an ability to see new areas of fundraising potential
  • Awareness of International development issues
  • Familiarity with data protection and its application to fundraising
  • Familiarity with Health and Safety issues relating to ‘events’

Terms of Appointment

  • Permanent Contract (subject to 6 months probation)
  • 35 hours per week
  • be willing to work on Sundays and evenings as required and occasional Saturdays
  • Salary on appointment £30,000 (Salary Band C1)
  • 25 days annual leave
  • A car to assist you to carry out the duties associated with this role
  • Non-contributory pension scheme
  • These positionsare all home based and successful candidates will be required to live within their regions and ideally be situated close to rail and major road links.
