Research Experience

  • Pfizer PhRD Internship - R. Todd Darrington, Supervisor; Eugene P. Kadar, Mentor Pfizer Global R&D 2003 Summer Intern Program: May-Aug. 2003
  • Determined drug degradation rates of solid dosage forms at various storage conditions using LC-MS/MS
  • Became proficient in method development and operation for HPLC and triple-quadrupole mass spectrometer
  • Trained in scientific notebook keeping and archiving as well as corporate laboratory skills
  • Found accurate degradation rates and presented findings in poster session
  • University of Connecticut School of Pharmacy freeze-drying laboratory - Dr. Michael Pikal Undergraduate Summer Research Fellowship in Pharmaceutics: May - Aug. 2002
  • Examined relationship between nucleation temperature and primary drying process
  • Gained proficiency in operation of lyophilization and BET surface area equipment
  • First use of innovative ice nucleation technique for measurement in laboratory
  • Discovered ways to dramatically increase technique’s performance and efficacy
  • Sponsored by Pfizer, Boehringer-Ingelheim and Bayer
