GAME RULES

  1. Referees will be in charge of all games administration matters
  1. Each team must provide one adult at the table to keep time or score
  1. Games will consist of 2 halves. 20 minute running clock, except for time outs. The clock stops the last minute of each half.
  1. Three one-minute time outs per game. One additional time out per team per overtime.
  1. First over-time- three minutes; seconds- “sudden death”, except in play-offs
  1. Pressing: Half court permitted at all times. For the 9th– 12th grade, full court permitted except when leading by 15 or more points. For the 7th & 8th grade, full court during the final 5 minutes of each half, except when leading by 15 or more points. For the 5th & 6th grade, full court during the final 2 minutes of each half, except when leading by 15 or more points.
  1. Foul shots: The first 9 foul per half, except those committed during the act of shooting, will be non-shooting fouls played out of bounds. The 10th foul and thereafter each half result in 2 foul shots. (There are no one-and-one’s)
  1. Any player forgets his/her team shirt will be allowed to play with another shirt of similar color; but the team will be assessed a technical foul.
  1. Girl’s divisions and 5th & 6th grade boys division will use the smaller ball (women’s size). Boy’s 7th & 8th and9th to 12thwill use the larger ball (men’s).
  1. Players may play for in a division for older players but may not, under any circumstances, play with younger players. In other words, you can play “up”, but not “down.”
  1. When rain threatens, a decision to postpone will be made around 5:00 pm. If games are cancelled, please check the website at this website is updated continuously. Games cancelled due to rain, MUST BE MADE UP WITHIN A WEEK. Make-ups can be played during the week when the court time is available, on Saturday mornings or Sunday nights. Rain during play will result in postponing unless 30 minutes has been played, in which case the game is official except in play-offs.
  1. Game standings will be kept by the referees. Be sure your team number and final scores are accurately indicated on the score sheets.
  1. Play-offs will be assigned at the end of the season. The top 8 teams in each division make the play-offs. Some divisions this year will take more than 8 teams to be determined by the league. Tie breakers will be first decided head to head, then a coin flip. No additional games will be played to determine seeding.
