PAPT’s Clinical Affiliation FAQ’s

Q: Is housing provided for your interns?
A: Housing is not provided for our interns. Interns in the past have recommended using newyork.craigslist.org for locating sublets. The average cost of housing can vary from $1000 and up/month depending on the location and number of roommates you are sharing the apartment with.

Q: Is there a dress code?
A: The dress at PAPT is very casual: sneakers and conservative jeans are acceptable attire.

Q: What is a typical day at PAPT?
A: Hours may vary according to the Clinical Instructor you will be assigned to. Our office is open Monday through Saturday some days as early as 9:00am and as late as 7:30pm.You will spend part of your day in the clinic and some days also at the theater treating performers.

Q: What documentation processes to you use?
A: We use a computerized documentation program for writing notes and scheduling appointments. Students will receive training on using the system and are expected to enter daily notes via the computerized system.

Q:Are there any reading materials or other things I should know that are recommended to review prior to my arrival that will help me prepare for my affiliation?
A: Yes.You need to know your orthopedic special tests as well as your anatomy and objective measurements. With our population, the above knowledge is manditory to ensure that you will get the most benefit out of your affiliation with us, and our patients receive the best care. We will also send you research articles, exercise handouts, and other of PAPT’s injury prevention/documentation materials to prepare you when treating the performing artist.

Q: What options are available for lunch?
A: We are located in the heart of Times Square. There are a variety of deli’s and restaurants within a 1-block radius of our building. If you decide to bring your lunch, we have a large refrigerator to store your food.
