2014 PAR Awardees

PAR is the model member units follow when planning, funding and executing actions designed to drive higher-levels of member engagement. This evolves from a renewed focus on member retention & growth, member value creation, and member leader engagement.

The program is intended to be simple, achievable and inspiring while also providing opportunities to capture, share, and be recognized for innovative best practices.

PAR is focused on gaining, engaging, and retaining members throughout the society.

Leadership teams must incorporate new and innovative ways of thinking when it comes to providing greater value for members. Members join for many reasons and it is important for member units to better understand and respond to these expectations.

PAR provides the necessary structure as member units continue to transition from basic compliance toward performance excellence – excellence that will be recognized and communicated throughout ASQ.

Process Overview

PAR consists of two unique awards -- performance and innovation -- that member units are encouraged to pursue annually. Both awards require operating agreements to be in good standing in addition to demonstrating results-based performance.

Section and divisions are eligible to participate in the performance award and all ASQ member units, including forums, interest groups, and local member communities (LMCs) globally, in addition to sections and divisions, are eligible for the optional innovation award. Compliance to individual operating agreements is still required.

PAR Overview

PAR-Performance

Performance assesses how effectively member units are developing member leaders, funding activities, and providing enhanced value to members. The resulting increase in overall member value received will result in improved retention and growth.

To earn the performance award, member units must be in good standing and meet all of the following criteria:

  • Member Leader Engagement
  • Member Value Creation
  • Retention & Growth

PAR-Innovation

Innovation is an optional, stand-alone program designed to capture innovative best practices across various categories while recognizing member units exhibiting exceptional results from their initiatives.

Good Standing

Compliance to operating agreements is important for ensuring the basics of member unit management are planned and executed in a timely and effective manner. Select requirements from member unit operating agreements will be used to monitor ongoing compliance.

PAR Online Community

You are also encouraged to participate in ongoing discussions by becoming a member of this community.

Responsibility

While the entire member unit leadership committee shares responsibility for planning, executing, monitoring, and improving performance based on PAR criteria, it is highly recommended one team member be identified as the primary party responsible for meeting the good standing and performance aspects of PAR.

Suggestions include, but are not limited to, Past-Chair, Chair-Elect, Vice-Chair, Membership Chair, or Voice of Customer Chair.
