Performance Assurance Specialist

PRIMARY PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The Performance Assurance Specialist is the primary customer service representative to all PSI customers once each project is complete. The Performance Assurance Specialist is also responsible for Building Automation System (BAS) operator training, BAS technical support, and BAS operational performance. The Performance Assurance Specialist must have great communication skills in order to properly explain and relate complex technical issues to customers with significantly less technical training.

Essential Duties:

  1. Review, inspect, and test the performance of complex HVAC systems and various BAS systems.
  2. Commission and optimize the all building systems for peak performance.
  3. Perform on-line and on-site trouble shooting of building performance problems throughout the term of the performance agreement.
  4. Set-up remote access to BAS systems along with appropriate reporting and alarming functions.
  5. Work with others in the Performance Assurance group to ensure that all BAS functions are in place to properly monitor and evaluate the energy performance of the systems.

Required Experience:

  1. Experience acquiring and analyzing data, and determining how it impacts system performance and energy conservation results.
  2. Experience as an HVAC control technician and BAS system programmer.
  3. Experience working in a service oriented position is strongly preferred.

Required Education:

  1. Minimum 2-year technical degree or equivalent.

Working Conditions:

  1. Office functions will primarily be performed at PSI’s main business office.
  2. Onsite system optimization, owner meetings and training presentations are an essential part of this position and will occur frequently.
  3. Work hours vary based on workload, but should average 45-50 hours per week.
  4. Significant amounts of travel will occur and some overnight travel will be required.
