People Working Cooperatively Receives Three Grants

Secured Grants to Help Modifications, Home Repairs and Renovations

CINCINNATI – People Working Cooperatively (PWC), a local nonprofit that provides critical home repair, weatherization, modification and maintenance services to help residents stay safely in their homes, announced today it has secured $60,000 in grants for use in modification services, home repairs andits headquarter renovations.

The Hatton Foundation awarded PWC $25,000for complicated home modifications. Services provided in the Modifications for Mobility program include ramp installations and bathroom or kitchen modifications thatimprove the daily mobility and independence of PWC’s most vulnerable clients.

In addition, the Hamilton Community Foundation awarded PWC $15,000 for home repairs for homeowners in the city of Hamilton. The repairs are funded by a grant from the unrestricted funds of the Hamilton Community Foundation, made possible by generous donors since 1951.PWC’s trained and licensed staff of skilled tradesmen, including plumbers, electricians, carpenters, and HVAC technicians, will provide critical home repairs for 12 to 15 city of Hamilton homeowners.

“People Working Cooperatively offers a wide arrange of services aimed to best meet the needs of our clients,” said PWC President Jock Pitts. “Community support is absolutely vital, and we are incredibly thankful for the contributions that help us to carry out our mission of keeping people safe in their homes.”

PWC also received a grant for the ongoing renovation of its multi-purpose room, which serves as a main gathering location for PWC volunteers and employees. The $20,000 grant from the Sutphin Family Foundation will help expand the space and make the building more energy-efficient. The renovated multi-purpose room will feature new ADA-accessible entrances and restrooms and a newly-installed heating/cooling system.
