Section 3: Event Information

For the whisky enthusiast a Penderyn Masterclass and whisky tasting visit is a must! It's one of the most popular tourist attractions in South Wales and you don’t need to be a whisky connoisseur to enjoy the experience. Each Masterclass and whisky tasting is conducted by one of the distillery’s expert guides.

Held in small groups to ensure that each person gets the maximum benefit from the learning experience, a Penderyn Masterclass and whisky tasting begins with a short "getting to know you" session, during which everyone can relax and enjoy some refreshments.
At this stage we also cover the various still designs and distillation processes used by Scottish, Irish and Welsh whisky distillers, and you’ll begin to learn that Penderyn single malt whiskies are unique. You will learn about the different types of whisky from single malt through to bourbon and Tennessee whiskies and how Welsh whisky differs from Scotch whisky.
Next for the fun and games, in which you take part. We won’t reveal here what we ask you to do, but you’ll enjoy it!
It’s time to see the still room, where everything should now fall into place (we won’t make you wait 5 years for the spirit to mature!). You will see examples of our Bourbon, Madeira, Peated, Sherry and Port barrels as your guide is there to answer your questions throughout.

Back in the Boardroom, you now experience how to nose whisky as well as enjoy whisky tasting, using various expressions of Penderyn single malt whisky - see if you can identify them all!
Your Penderyn Masterclass and whisky tasting session ends with a gift, which is included in the price. Your guide then takes you to the exhibition area and whisky tasting room so that you can browse at your leisure and sample more of our single malt whiskies, vodkas, gins and cream liqueurs if you wish. All in all, an experience not to be missed!

IMPORTANT: These events are active and players should be aware of the physical activities involved. CSSC reserves the right to cancel the event if under subscribed.

All CSSC members taking part in the event are covered by CSSC Sports and Leisure Public Liability Insurance. Please note that this policy is NOT a Personal Accident Policy. Members are encouraged to take out their own insurance policy.
This event is open to your friends or family members. As a reminder, under our Linked membership scheme, up to three of your friends or family members can join CSSC and take part in our events at members’ rate. Membership is also available to staff working in the Public Sector such as NHS, local government, teachers, the police, fire fighters and HM Armed forces personnel.

Once entry forms and payment are received and processed an acknowledgement email will be sent out with further information a week before the event.
