PEGRAM CITY SEWER SYSTEM:

PCC = Pegram City Council

Before actual hook-up to the City sewer lines can occur, these things must happen . .

  1. Phase must be determined by PCC - No discounts after phase discount deadline is over.
  2. Phase details and deadlines must be set by PCC.
  3. Line Contractors for the City work must be selected via bid selection process approved by PCC.
  4. Phase letters are sent out to homeowners/business in that Phase letting owner know of all needed

information (Deadlines, rates, etc.).

  1. Turn in applications and fees to City Hall in regular working hours (M-F 8 AM - 12 PM & 1 PM - 4 PM)
  2. Homeowner can pick up list of certified contractors for the STEP system at City Hall.
  3. Contractors can go through free training to learn how to properly install the STEP system.
  4. After the homeowner chooses the contractor to do the individuals work, the contractor will need to come to City Hall and place his bond and pay the tank permit fee ($10,000.00 permit bond made to The Town of Pegram and $50.00 permit fee for each tank being installed).
  5. The City Attorney will research individual easements and get them properly filed so that they may be legal and in working order prior to the tanks installation.
  6. After the contractor has paid his permit fees for each tank being installed and placed his bond at City Hall, the Building Inspector, will go to each site and draw sketch of where system needs to be installed (including installation details for the contractor). Each tank will be given a permit number and records of all work will be on file at the City Hall in the Codes Department. The contractor will work directly with the Building Inspector, the City Engineer, and the tank supplier on any questions that they may have about the system or installation of the system.

Before a Contractor can take on a job to install the STEP system for a homeowner he must . . .

  1. attend certification training held free of charge by the Pickney Co. on the behalf of the Town of Pegram. Each attendee passing certification will be given some type of card/official form to show that he has been approved for this type of system.
  2. have a permit bond of a minimum of $10,000.00 on file at City Hall to cover any contractor hooking up to the public system that may not complete the job, requiring the City to finish the task. This bond would also cover any faulty work by the contractor within the first year of service. (One per Company)
  3. pay $50.00 for each tank that they are installing and receive their receipt and permit number at the City Hall.

CONTRACTORS MUST HAVE BOND, ATTEND THE FREE TRAINING ON THE INSTALLATION OF THE SPECIAL WATER TIGHT TANKS FROM THE SUPPLIER, AND RECEIVE DOCUMENTATION FROM THE CLASS TO SHOW CERTIFICATIONBEFORE GETTING THEIR NAMES ADDED TO THE APPROVED CITY CONTRACTORS LIST TO BE GIVEN OUT AT THE PEGRAM CITY HALL.
