Purpose:
This module has been developed to prepare learners for a junior administrative position in an organisation. It is also intended to prepare the learner for further study in the related areas.
Content:
Units:
1. The Organisation.
2. Finance, Money, Banking and Foreign Exchange.
3. Human Resources.
4. Preparing for Meetings.
5. Processing Business Documents.
Assessment:
1. Assignment 1: on either “The Organisation” or “Human Resources” - 30%.
2. Assignment 2: on either “Finance, Money, Banking and Foreign Exchange” or “Preparing for Meetings” or “Processing Business Documents” – 30%.
3. Examination (Theory-Based): on all content in the subject across all units – 40%.
Total – 100%.
Grading:
Distinction: 80% - 100%.

“Business Administration” (3rdedition) (2008) by Arlene Douglas, Dublin: Gill and Macmillan, or the 2nd edition of that book will do fine.
