Peace of Mind

It does not mean the absence of noise, chaos, confusion or hard work,

It means to be in the midst of those things,

And still be calm in your heart.

Fortunately, we all possess the natural,

inborn ability to be calm even in the midst of pain and the stresses and challenges of every day life. We call this approach Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR).

Our Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Course (MBSR) is modeled on the 8 week MBSR program which was founded in 1979

by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn at the University of MassachusettsMedicalCenter.

Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) is now taught in hospitals, clinics and research centers around the world and has earned a respected place in integrative medicine.

MBSR can also compliment the treatments provided by your doctors or other healthcare specialists.

Weekly classes and daily home practice help train your mind to become calmer and clearer, so that you can respond more effectively to the stresses and challenges of every day life.

Almost30 years of published research demonstrates that the majority of patients who complete the course experience the following:

greater peace of mind, energy and enthusiasm for life

improved ability to cope with and adapt to demanding, stressful life situations

decreased pain levels and enhanced ability to cope with chronic pain and symptoms

an increased ability to relax and appreciate moments of joy and celebration

Patients participate in the program for many different reasons:

stress (physical, emotional, chemical)

chronic pain, illness

fatigue

anxiety

depression

sleep disturbances
