- Schedule training for campus with your Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Coach
- Initial training for new teachers
- Refresher/Updates for experienced teachers
- Ensure that CST meetings are on the Master Calendar
- Ensure that CST expectations are updated in the Staff Handbook
- After class rosters are updated into TEAMS, encourage teachers to look through all tabs of their students in eCST for historical information.
- Consider making Roster Base Programs (RBP) for groups you want to monitor like priority At-Risk students
- Run a Student Level Report (SLR) and/or Student Intervention Report – to find students of concern from the prior year.(Middle and High School priority use RITS scores to identify students of concern).
- Middle and High School priority - use Dropout tab to review current levels and make a plan for recovery.
September /
- Review high priority students identified as red flags from previous school year. For example: retentions, benchmarks not met, and/or a students' need identified by universal screeners.
- Students identified determine an action plan with teacher and possible outside resources: Counselor, Licensed Mental Health Professionals (LMHP), Nurse, and/or Mult-Tiered Systems of Support Coach (MTSS Coach).
- Consider placing CST meetings on the Student Tracking Calendar for the school year. (see CST Chair Resource tab on
- Monitor classroom expectations through classroom observations for Tier I and II behavior management, instructional systems and strategies.
- Ensure teachers have problem solving meetings and contact administrator through “Notify CST Chair” if a CST meeting needs to be held.
- After assessments identify target groups and meet to discuss next steps for creating skill-based interventions in RBP and/or individual plans.
- Review the CSS website for a menu of Professional Development for Tier I – Universal, Tier II-Targeted, and Tier III- Intensive. Schedule CST support time or professional development with your Multi-Tiered Systems of Support Coach (MTSS Coach), MTSS Attendance (Neasel Conner), or Licensed Mental Health Professional (LMHP).
- Inventory campus academic, behavioral, and attendance interventions. Plan training needed.
- Middle and High School priority - use Dropout tab to review current level and make a plan for recovery.
- Middle and High School priority- review Dropout tab daily to ensure recovery efforts are being documented. If there are issues or concerns, contact Bertha Arrellano or Neasel Conner with Department of SEL and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support.

- Ensure teachers document services and parent communication in service tracking and have problem solving meetings. Have them contact administrator through “Notify CST Chair” if a CST meeting needs to be held.
- Suggest teachers identify and respond to students not meeting expectations for Tier I, II, III instruction and create skill-based interventions in RBP or individual plans.
- Ensure intervention progress monitoring is being entered into eCST by teachers and interventionists.
- Ask MTSS Coach to support teachers in building academic and/or behaviorintervention plans.
- High School priority - work with counselors to review credit audit for all students. Create plans for credit recovery, document plan in eCST with RBP or Attendance Plan tab. Students in current cohort with credit issues/concerns should be discussed at a CST meeting to problem solve.
- Middle and High School priority - after grading period, run an Early Warning Report to review RITS data for students. Make plan for students that have high RITS data.
November /

- Early-May- Review student files to check for follow through and completion.
- Mid-May-Ensure teachers close plans to reflect outcome of the plan choosing from the following: closed - goal highly effective, closed – goal effective, or closed – goal not effective, teachers may input notes to add more information on outcome of the plan.
- Ask teacher for reflective feedback to improve next year’s Child Study System using the CST proces
- Create a Red Flag list of students with continued concerns for the Fall 2017 with next step recommendations.
