Ephesians 3:14-21

Paul’s Prayer for Spiritual Empowering

  1. Pray and ask God to reveal truth to you from His word today.
  1. Read Ephesians 3:14-21(p. 1513).
  1. Fill in the blanks to help you slowly walk through this Scripture passage:

When I think of the ______and ______of God’s ______, I fall to my knees and pray to the Father, the ______of everything in ______and on ______.

(This tells us what caused Paul to pray in the first place--thinking of the wisdom and scope of God’s plan. We also learn a little about who God is.)

I pray that from his glorious, ______resources he will give you mighty ______through His Holy ______. (Isn’t that exciting that His resources are unlimited and that He can give us inner strength by His Holy Spirit???)

And I pray that ______will be more and more at home in your hearts as you trust in him. May your ______go down deep into the soil of God’s marvelous ______. (Jesus can be more at home in your heart as you trust in Him and allow Him to show you needed changes through His word. Does this give you the idea of just snuggling up with God?)

And may you have the ______to ______, as all ______should, how ______, how ______, how ______, and how ______his ______really is.

May you ______the ______of Christ, though it is so ______you will never fully ______it. Then you will be ______with the fullness of ______and ______that comes from ______. (How exciting that even though we can’t fully understand it, we can experience it!)

Now glory be to God! By his mighty ______at work ______us, he is ______to accomplish infinitely ______than we would every dare to ______or ______. (It’s His power in us that allows us to do anything for His glory and it’s so much bigger than we can even imagine! That’s BIG power!)

May he be given ______in the ______and in Christ ______forever and ever through endless ages. Amen

Wasn’t that fun just to peek into Paul’s prayer closet and listen to him pray?

IV.Now, read the footnote for 3:14-21 at the bottom of the page 1513 to see what it says about being grounded in God’s love.

V.This basic truth is necessary for your recovery; therefore, you might consider praying this prayer for yourself.

Father, You created everything in heaven and on earth. I pray that from Your glorious, unlimited resources, You will give me mighty inner strength through Your Holy Spirit. I pray that Christ will be more and more at home in my heart as I trust in Him. May my roots go down deep into the soil of Your marvelous love. And may I have the power to understand, as all of Your people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep Your love really is. May I experience this love of Christ, though it is so great that I will never fully understand it. Then, I will be filled with the fullness of life and power that comes from You, God. Glory be to You, Father! By Your mighty power at work within me, You are able to accomplish infinitely more than I would ever dare to ask or hope! May You be given glory in the church and in Christ Jesus forever and ever through endless ages. Amen.

Do you see how easy it is to take Scripture and turn it into a prayer (It’s especially easy when the Scripture is already in the form of a prayer!)?

Keep praying this for yourself and others and you will experience the love of Christ afresh!

Oh, how He loves you!!!
