METHOD OF EVALUATION FOR SPORTS MEDICINE:

All assignments, projects, labs, and tests will be given a point value. When you get the assignment back graded you will see the points possible, the points earned, a percentage, and your grade. I will add up the point’s possible and points earned, and figure out your percentage and letter grade for the class. There will be limited opportunities for extra credit. I do not round or curve grades.

Items to be graded include tests, unannounced quizzes, notebook checks, term papers, essays and writing assignments, textbook work, article summaries, video summaries, group projects and presentations, independent study, training room work hours, training room duties and cleaning, skills check forms, participation in the Sports Medicine Wrap-a-Thon, and other assignments as needed.

FEES AND MATERIALS REQUIRED:

  1. The textbook fee should have been paid when they gave you your schedule for the school year at the Back To School Blitz.
  2. Other materials required include a spiral notebook with pockets, a daily planner/calendar, highlighter pens, and maybe colored pencils. I prefer that students write all assignments and tests in blue or black ink, or type them.

REQUIRED STUDENT ATHLETIC TRAINING WEEKLY SERVICE POINTS :

Each week you will be required to earn 30 student athletic trainer service points. These points are earned by working hours in the athletic training program (1 point per hour worked), and by completing duties and cleaning in the athletic training room (1 point per item completed). Sometimes, I may allow games/events covered and treatments rendered to count as weekly service points too. Any extra service points beyond 30 a week earned will count as extra credit points.
