Pastoral Search Team Report

August 2017

The pastoral search team continues to meet weekly. In August, we listened to sermons and evaluated candidates that have been recommended to us, with a view towards taking next steps in the interview process.

Meanwhile, onesub-team created an evaluation form that gave the whole team objective criteria to assessthe sermons. Another sub-team ironed out the interview process we will use as we pursue candidates. We completed a church information form that included the history and characteristics of Cedar Springs and which also detailed opportunities for growth.

Each team member submitted “like to haves” we desire in our next senior pastor. We discussed the wide range of responses and affirmed that these things are important, but not as critical as our “must haves” that we outlined in our summer report.

We also spent one entire evening in August in prayer and had a sweet time communing with the Lord and listening to him.

A few team members are working on a presentation that will be shared with the congregation on a Sunday morning.

As we continue this work, if you have any questions please contact us at
