Ring 1 – Foreign breeds
9am start(all other times mentioned are estimates please ensure you check with the collecting ring steward regularly for updates)
All classes enter the arena the speed of trot on the left rein.
1.Paso Fino Novice – open to any age/sex Paso Fino. For novice horse, or nervous rider. Walk, corto and largo on both reins. Use of the fino strip at Judge’s discretion. No individual test.
2. Appaloosa open ridden stallions/geldings – Walk, trot and canter on both reins. Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Individual test optional, at Judge’s discretion.
3. Gaited Foreign breed Purebred Open– Open to any gaited breed of any age 3+ and any sex. Ridden class. Shown in the speed of walk, trot and canter in both directions (in the horse’s gait)
10am:
4a. Paso Fino Pleasure Open Schooling Fillies –Open to Professional and Amateur riders.Horses aged 36 – 72 months. Walk, corto and largo in both directions and use of Fino strip.
4b. Paso Fino Pleasure Open Schooling Colts and Geldings – Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Horses aged 36-72 months. Walk,corto and largo in both directions and use of Fino strip.
5. Paso Fino Pleasure Amateur Adult – Horses 72 months +. Amateur only class. Walk, corto and largo in both directions. Use of the fino strip.
6. Icelandic Elementary 4 gait (beginners) – Open to Icelandic horses of any age. Riders not to have won a class.
11am:
7. Saddlebred hunter pleasure - Enter in trot. Then proceed to extended trot, walk, canter and hand gallop when requested by the Judge.
8. Paso Fino Pleasure Open Mares – Mares 72+ months. Judging to a professional standard. Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Walk, corto and largo on both reins. Use of the Fino strip. Work off if requested by the Judges.
9. Icelandic tolt – Open to horses 36+ months. Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Horses shown at the tolt in both directions.
12pm:
10. PRE open Pure bred mares – Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Pure bred mares 36+ months of age. Shown in walk, trot and canter in both directions.
11. Paso Fino Pleasure Open Stallions & Geldings – Horses 72+ months. Judged to professional standards. Open to both Professional and Amateur riders.Walk, Corto and Largo in both directions. Use of the fino strip. Work off if requested by Judges.
12a. Paso Fino Pleasure Stallion & Geldings Championships – Horses to have completed one of the Pleasure classes.

3pm:
16. Saddlebred 3 gaited –Shown at flat or animated walk, trot and canter. Horse to wear cut back saddle and rider a saddle suit.
17. Luisitano Pure bred open ridden mare – Mares 36+ months. Open to Professional and Amateur riders. Shown in Walk, trot and canter on both reins.
18. Icelandic 5 gait – open to Professionals and Amateurs. Horses 36+ months. Shown in all 5 gaits of the breed in both directions.
4pm:
19. Paso Fino Horsemanship – Horses shown in Corto on both reins and over the fino strip. Then demonstrating an individual test compromising of a figure of 8, serpentine and traverse of the fino strip.
20. Barrel racing – Open to all breeds. A timed event.

RING 4: Trail class 11-12pm & 2-3.30pm. Just turn up and compete in this timed event. Choose from in-hand or ridden. A winner will be chosen at the end of the day. Rosettes can be posted if the competitor has left the grounds.

Declaration of Professional/Amateur status.

Definition of a professional:

A person becomes a Professional for horse show purposes, regardless of age, if the person engages in any of the following activities:

  • Any rider/handler/exhibitor who directly, or indirectly, accepts payment for riding, teaching, giving clinics and lessons, showing or training is considered a professional. Payment in kind is also considered payment.

Terms and conditions:

  • Classes with fewer than two entries may be combined with similar classes.
  • Entries close on 23rd June 2017.
  • CURRENT EQUINE ‘FLU’ VACCINATION CERTIFICATES ARE REQUIRED for all horses entered.
  • Tack changes – should you find you require a tack change (where the same tack is required on different horses in consecutive classes) please notify the show secretary on this form so there is no penalty.
  • Withdrawals must be notified. On the day withdrawals please notify either the show secretary or relevant collecting ring steward.
  • Substitutions will be permitted, but the show secretary and/or collecting ring steward must be notified prior to the class starting.
  • Once the class has been called by the collecting ring steward all competitors must be ready in the collecting ring. The gate will be closed once all competitors from the collecting ring have entered the arena. As soon as the gate is closed the class has begun and no late entries will be allowed.
  • If there is a clash between classes in different rings please ensure someone notifies the collecting ring steward of the relevant ring so they can delay the start of the class.
  • All contact regarding the show must be through Rachel Bowen, not through Norton Heath EC.
  • Refunds can only be considered upon the production of a valid doctor or vet’s certificate, dated after the date of entry.
  • The Judges decision is FINAL.
  • Any objections or argument must be made in writing addressed to the Chairman of the PFAUKI, Rachel Bowen at the address above, accompanied by a £50 payment (returnable if the objection is sustained).
  • The organisers reserve the right to measure any animals competing in any of the classes unless covered by a life certificate.
  • All riders and their helpers must obey stewards, officials and land owners, as well as any written notices.
  • No prams/pushchairs to be taken into practice areas, arenas or entranceways to arenas. They must also be kept at a safe distance from all ring edges.
  • Dogs must be kept on a short lead at ALL times.
  • As part of the Association’s promotional activity, I understand that photographs taken at events may be used for publicity purposes such as newsletter, website etc.
  • The PFAUKI reserve the right to ask any participant or visitor to leave the premises should their behaviour become abusive or dangerous.

Neither the PFAUKI, nor Norton Heath EC, accept any responsibility for any loss, theft or damage whatsoever to any animal, item or article associated with the show or for any accident or injury to any person or animal howsoever caused.
